backyard single turbo conversion?
Hey guys, I just recently bought my RX7 and right now I'm looking into some things that are going to put her into tip-top runing condition. I'm ordering the radiator, FMIC, oil cooler and what not. My goal is to lower underhood temperatures as much as possible so that I can get the most out of my 7. I've been looking into single turbo conversions and a lot of the kits are upwards around 3500! Is there any cheaper way to do this? What all is needed to do it? is it really neccasary to buy a kit? Let me know guys. Thanks.
Plz dont flame me if I'm completely off on any assumptions, RX7s are very new to me.

you can buy the XS engineering To4e kit for as low as $2500-$2800.
another option is to build your own kit. You can get a garret turbo, hks or whatever manifold, wastegate, and make your own downpipe and lines... This would decrease the cost substantially depending on the type of turbo and other things you are going for but would also require a lot of custom work too (making own downpipe, getting lines, etc).
If you are interested, contact forum member osdesigns, he knows a lot about going the latter route
