Damn you must be sucking down some gas. You outta get a RX-8 tranny and gear 1-5 like your FD, the make 6th a way over drive, like 2000 rpms at 60. My stepdad's viper gets 33 mpg because cruising in 6th at 60 it is turning about 1250(and still pulls!)

I DD mine but not for long. getting a pickup soon
I put about 250 miles a week. Been going 1.5 years on this motor its at 15k's and only 1 year with single.
Like spoolin said its too addicting, and the first time I drive the old lady's car I get tried

I do. t04s. short commute though...15k miles a year or less.
I do ride my VFR though whenever the weather is nice
and my drive home I found a curvy way that has at least 10 20 mph corners...15 30 mph corners...etc. Its sweet

you don't tune it any richer than normal for city driving...I get the same mileage as when the car was bone stock...right around 18-19 in mixed city/hwy driving.
haven't replaced my plugs yet, but my idle is getting a bit bumpy after 5k...

~5K miles on 9's was my usual, but now I'm running 10.5's. They looked good after the first 2K on this motor, using Twin Power and t04s boosting ~ 15 lbs.
The 10.5's are mucho dinero, but worth it. The cooler combustion temps are worth it, and in CA it doesn't get cold enough to cause hard start issues. I might even try 11's next just to see how cold I can go.

Beast from the East,
When you say MUCHO DINERO,
HOw much are the 10.5's??
SO if you use a SIngle turbo as a daily driver/ maybe
1000Kmiles a MOnth.. You should change yoru Spark
plugs every 3-5K miles??? Is that the norm??

I drive mine every day, its my only transportation. If i could go back I wouldn't have gone that direction. As far as mpg, its usually around 12-15 in the city. Gas milage falls all back on the tunning of the computer. If your car is running to rich and have conservative timing obviously your gas milage isnt going to be greatest. A tunner isnt going to spend the time on the car to tweak with the gm.

I get them for a couple bucks less via Mazdcomp. Jason's price is the cheapest you'll get them outside of a Mazdacomp account or some backdoor deal from a distributor.
Yes to your comments about plug change frequency. I just pull them at each oil change and either change or clean them depending upon condition. You should always check your plugs, as they can tell you a great deal about how your engine is running....

I see that some of you guys are having fuel mileage issues. Me, as well as Boostn7 actually have pretty good mileage(I mean better than stock), which leads me to believe that it has to do with how you drive your car daily, and how well you tune your fuel management system in the low boost and vaccum areas. If you think about it, a big turbo will actually waste less gas than a stock turboed car if driven conservatively, due to the fact that you're not in boost as often as a stock turboed car in the lower revs. When you get on the gas and boost, it's a different story all together, tune your car right, and drive it conservatively, and your mileage will improve.

Agreed, RX794 - I get about stock milage with my T04s in the n/a area because I've spent a lot of hours tuning those cells and my accel. enrichment settings so that I run ~ 14 afr under city driving, 13.5 under light load, and right at stoich in 5th crusing at 73mph. I'd get better than stock under these conditions if it wasn't for my porting Extra air flow requires extra fuel, even under n/a.
Of course, under boost it's frightening. I can do 3 long pulls or a few miles of hard boost driving and suck down an eighth of a tank in no time. You pay to play.
