Anyone running a Greddy wastegate?
Anyone running a Greddy wastegate?
Wanted to know if anyone is using a wastegate valve seat between the flange & the wastegate. My wastegate never had one. Can't find any info about this at all.
If I understand what you are talking about then I had the same problem....atleast I would call it a problem. When I bought my car it didn't have the valve seat, and for such a long time I was wondering why my car sounded like it had a god awful exhaust leak.
I finally found the noise coming from my wastegate, so I ordered the valve seat, installed it, and the noise went away.
Real pain to order it and wait for it though. Without the valve seat the wastegate wont seal correctly and this will decrease the efficiency of the wastegate. I would recommend getting one, but it is a little pricey. I think mine was around $100 or so

I asked a couple dealers if they could get me one, not a single reply after two weeks. So I called Greddy USA the other day, like you said, it was going to take 7-8 weeks. I didn't even bother asking for a price quote after that. Crap, $100 for a small metal plate!?!? I don't have that kind of time. I was going to sell this and go with a Tial or an HKS v-band instead because I got frustrated. Did a little research on Egay, I'm going to buy a cheapy 46mm 4 bolt wastegate and use the valve seat.
The Greddy Type R is 47mm, if it doesn't fit I'll bore it out. This is my last hope.
Thanks.
