Are all 2nd generation turbos(FC's) single turbos?
this should be in the 2nd gen forum, and Not all FC were turbo, just the ones with the TII badging, and the scoop hood. they also came with 16" rims. All turbo charged FC were single from the factory.
All TII 2nd gens are Hitachi 18-2s
The 87-88 use a single waste gate flapper exhaust housing with a twin scroll system to help manipulate boost.
89-91 used a dual hole waste gate to help aleviate boost creep problems which were in S4's.
They used an ECU controlled boost controller to manipulate boost.
I think they changed the compressor fins a little bit but it's still pretty much the same thing.
These are 13bt's with a 4 port setup
Then there are the Non turbo 2nd gens which are 6 port systems which have variable ports.(kind of like Vtec)
