Air pump and single turbo?
Air pump and single turbo?
I have decided to convert to a single turbo system. I dont think I have ever seen a picture of a single turbo with the factory air pump. when I convert to I no longer need the extra oxygen pumped into the cat to pass emmisions? or should has everyone just converted to an electric airpump and relocated it?
Just wondering if I needed it cause its a chunk of extra weight I would prefer to remove

There are a very few single turbo's that allow you to keep the airpump. If you don't have to worry about emissions, as i do, then take that hunk of crap off. Otherwise, do a little search and i'm sure you will find some. Here is a link to one example...

You could always move the Air pump the other side if you don't have A/C

kool thanks for the options. I am not sure how much i need to keep it to pass emmisions. the shop i get tested at is usually willing to try and find some way to keep my cars passing etest. if i show up in the shop with one i plug into a wall outlet hook up test it then unplug they will likly be laughing too hard to bother explaining how much easier just keeping the extraweight would have been
I was the first to do it using the stock AP. I used the A-Spec GT35R short runner exhaust kit. I modified the AP bracket to retain the AP in the stock location.
Both of my PDFs on how I did it and after pictures are too big to posts.
