Aftermarket turbo suggestions

Hey guys, So i'm having a hard time figuring out what is a good aftermarket turbo/ turbo kit. I'm not looking to make big HP and do under 10s in the 1/4 just something decent and good for street use. With that being said any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Well for starters...it would help to know what series car you drive, and what is already done to it.

It's basically going to come down to your budget.

You cannot get any better than the Borg Warner EFR turbos right now. Many major shops are offering a manifold and kit, the most popular is by Turblown. That is your most expensive option. You'll need thousands in supporting mods (fuel, standalone ECU, etc.).

Your relatively cheap option is some form of hybrid turbo, most popular being BNR, and you'll still make a decent investment in supporting mods.

It's for future reference, it's a '90 S5 GTUs in the process of a T2 swap, and I've figured I'd have to spend big bucks, #RotaryLife and I've seen people run many different setups and I was curious on what would be best for "daily" street use. I did find this one turbo kit from a website called "Himni Racing" and the turbo in the kit was a Borg Warner, but I wasn't sure it was a reputable source.

You can view all of our turbo kits here;
https://www.turbosource.com/Turblown...ing-s/2039.htm

I would recommend a 61+mm turbo;

either our TDX61 on a budget, Borgwarner SXES363, or an EFR 8374

1. What is your budget?

2. What are your hp goals?

3. How do you intend to use the car?

Not looking to spend over $3k on a Turbo

Around 350hp to 375hp (something street-able and something to have fun in)

Only on nice days when the weather is at its absolute best (In the South NJ region)

Might want to clarify, not spending more than $3000 on the turbo, or the turbo KIT? Turbo, manifold, downpipe, wastegates, etc.

Again, factor in a few thousand dollars for injectors, ECU, fuel pump, etc. You WILL not get anywhere without all of these items.

For that power range you will want to consider our cast EFR IWG 7670 kit;

After checking out Turblown's website. Looks like I'm gonna have to spend a little more than $3k

That's only the turbo kit, then comes better rad, intercooler, ignition, fuel system upgrades, ems, etc. You have a long way to go.. take a look at some builds and you will have a better idea where you are at. I would look into bw 300sxe. $700-900 turbocharger alone.

Yeah, I'm aware of all the intercooler, piping, radiator, ecu and all that other stuff. It's like working out, you can build all the upper body strength you want, but you cant forget leg day.

There you go... you know what to do. If you are on buget and don't mind used parts, look around for used parts and little by little build it up. Good luck
