VA 88 turbo II rebuild

Looking for some basic suggestions on turbo II rebuilt. Thinking about ALS 2mm seals and porting, running stock primary injectors and 720 secondarys, RB free flow exhaust, 255 walboro. Should I port the wastegate, What kind of engine/fuel management. Not looking for monster horsepower...just a little extra and reliabilty. Any suggestion/help would be appreciated.

With any free flowing exhaust, you will want to port the wastegate, or the stock turbo will boost creep.

With these mods, I assume you'll be raising the boost a bit.

On a stock turboII, the stock compressor is running out of flow at redline. So if you raise the boost, you will get lots more low and mid range torque, but torque will be dropping off even worse as you reach redline. That's fine, but consider a hybrid compressor upgrade like the BNR hybrids, which will maintain torque out to redline (at a slight cost of spool).

From what I've heard, a stock turbo with raised boost is still really fun to drive, so you'll have to decide if you want to touch the turbo at all.
