What's up with that torque curve? Am I misreading it or does it say 1765.6 Nm @ 6691 rpm? Simple math gives us some 1680 hp from those figures.. now that's serious power!

Seriously.. it does make the sheet come across a bit suspicious, doesn't it?

That is at the rear axle ! Divide it by 3.87 and this is the torque from the engine - losses (tested in 4th gear 1:1 ratio) this is around 450NM ....I estimate it has 500NM of torque from the engine before lossing some throught the drive line.

They seem to "bash him" while smiling..
Maybe I am wrong, but it doesn't seem cool.

Again - I could be TOTALLY wrong, but this is how I interpreted these posts.
It is a sad fact of life that this happens alot in Australia, I am not sure how bad it is in the rest of the world?

I have one reply to anyone who questions me.

"I have fully developed, tuned, built, and specified every aspect of my car on my OWN, not followed anyone, never have an never will ! I have had close friends who have believed in me and helped me, mentaly and with alot of support when mother ******* and trash talkers do their best to put me down I just think of the support of my close friends (special shout out to my DAD "even though he most probaly will never read this!"), they know who they are THANKYOU & I will reward you soon with something realy special that will suprise alot of people....

I am not saying that either Cement or Autronic#1 fit into this group, just making a statement of the kind of **** we have to go through in this country sometimes.
But they obviously know of me or know me direct cause new members would not know that I run an Autronic as it is not in my details, and how many new members do you know use the search function, to find out about others in particular? Not many I bet..... And it is funny how they do not give details of who they are either?
Anyway, it is of little concern as people on this forum are I believe very inteligent and can make their own conclusions. I rekon it is a bit weird, but anyway, you cannot read into things, just cause they look weird to you or me. Could be a totaly logical explination. Either way, it makes things more interesting to see people come out of the wood work and participate in our little forum

regards.

Peter

here we go again !!

Directfreak it's people like you that start crap like this on forums ,sitting there analysing every last word people type ,breaking it down into sections and twisting it around too suit your views ,im neither jealous or envious of Rice and if u read the whole post u would of seen me congratulate him on achieving this figure on pump gas
as for me saying anyone can achieve reasonable h/p figures with a bit of an idea and money ( yes it takes money too do this ) it has been proven ,its a fact of life ,at no point did i say Rice is a follower this is just the way u like too view it so u can sit down and sling **** at people

Rice i am new too this forum and yes i have gone through and checked out a lot of the older threads ,this does'nt seem too be an unusual thing to do or "weird" as u like to put it ,as for having no details down i can't see why that's such a biggy ,i could type any crap in there anyway

while im here back too an earlier question about the max. h/p figures from a 13 b ,have u or anyone u know done extensive testing on an engine dyno too support ur theory ???

Peace guys!
I do think I know who these guys are and believe that they are deffinitely not fools when it comes to making power. Please note that my workshop was named in a complimentary manner of which I am thankfull for. No they do not work for me and nobody is looking to rekindle flames of old!

Cement, I am glad you read my posts and understood what I was saying ....... glad to see you do your research, most people do not.

In regards to the other thread, e-mail me.

G'day Peter,
nice figures. How did you find the Evo guys and their dyno - I might be interested in some sheets of I get the buzz-bomb sorted.
So that would have to be the most powerful street rotor in the region? A safe bet I suppose.
It's a pity the sidewalls on my 8" slicks are starting to crack... you could have taken them to Heathcote if you made it down there, or Wakefield for the 1/8th meet.
Catch you around,
Mark

Hi Mark

They were good, if you like I get a better price.....so email me before you decide to go and do a run.

I am not sure how many cars there are around (in our region) that are the same, or better spec for a full road trim 13B? But needless to say, I am sure there are a few. Never realy bothered myself with all that **** to be honest, just got plain sick and tired of a few "notable" people and general loosers who seem to go out of their way to ridicule me, maily cause I tend to calculate out most of my modifications and engine work and in general be very analytical ...... this was not getting me anywhere, not only these people, but a majority of people who are in the market for this type of stuff, hence the trip to the dyno I suppose.

Next step, drags, not with this car though, but my new project as it will be "fully" designed and tunned for this activity for maximum impact .

regards.

Peter.

If you analyse the graph, you will see that (divided by rear axle ratio) that the engine through the drive line makes 400n/m from 5500rpm with a peak of 456n/m at 6600rpm to 6900rpm and keeps on going with 400n/m up to around 8000rpm.

This is a pretty solid torque spread (for a side port) 2500rpm in which you have over 87% of the peak torque available, it makes it quite well suited to the ratios in the std box, and for a road car is more than OK, and it feels very nice on the street, If you are prepared to rev it then, it will go fast in the range it was designed for 5500rpm to 8000+rpm.

The graph does look peaky though, but the power is pretty linear ...... which is good for my driving style

I would like to update some information for people reading this thread, it pertains to the estimated engine BHP from the type of dyno I used in this test.

According to the manufactures of the chassis dyno, for my drive line, helical cut production box (4th gear1:1) light weight flywheel twin plate, mazda race LSD 3.9 ratio and the fluids and temps I was running... the very accuarte approximated drive loss should be in the range of 12 to 13% This loss factor varies according to the input power (as it does on all chassis dyno's) i.e. the more power you have the less percentage loss there is through the drive line, for my vehicle this is the range, for a less power full one it would be around 15%, for a more power full one it can drop down to 9%.

Based on these figures, and taking into account that the power results are corrected for std temperature and pressure, my engine in full road trim made 542BHP (power at the engine)@20psi boost on pump gas. On a cold night (21deg C lower temp & 2psi more boost) she would make a 592BHP at he engine which is dead on my predictions, and matches up with my accleration data logs etc When on a dyno this figure would be corrected to std temp and pressure conditions and be about 20bhp lower.

Either way as it stands, I have an honest 540BHP or 471.7rwhp (corrected) engine in road trim .... just wanted to clear this up, as the estimated engine power quoted to me by the dyno operator seemed a little high.

Bro, there is nothing secret, I even have photos of my damn ports on here ! Do a search.....

If you cannot find it send me an e-mail

I thought my set up was common knowledge?

RICE,

Strong number! Glad to see a fellow mechanical engineer make some horsepower.

Quick question; do you hold that 12 deg of timing constant to redline? The reason for asking was the shape of your hp curve and the additional advance that most of us PFC users are running above the torque peak.
