450whp goal on stock cosmo 13b ports?

Hey this is another what turbo is the right one for me. I have a 13b cosmo engine which has huge intake ports but small exhaust ports compared to the fd engine. I am ready to buy my turbo but i need a little help. I want to make atleast 400 whp on stock ports and dont tell me i need more then the turbo cause i have everything else and the car will be tuned. My goal is more of the 430 whp range and i am considering the following turbos GT40R, GT42R- which i think is too big, T04S, 60-1 ball bearing. I want a turbo that will make the power on my egine and will do it without much lag. so what do you guys think? and any other suggestions on what turbo would be great.

thanks!!!!!!

ported motor? Check out the site www.catenet.net/dyno.php I think that link is correct. It will have dyno graphs of many cars to compare. I made 427 with the gt40r at 19.5 psi. This was on a stock ported fd motor.

i made 402 on my stock 13b rew with a t78 turbo. It shouldnt be a problem with the cosmo motor and this turbo. Lag isnt that bad either. With the smaller exhaust ports it may even spool quicker?

i was wonder if the smaller ports would make a turbo spool quicker or if it would just suck

430whp range on stock ports is going to require some good tuning and higher boost levels, as well as a good sized turbo. What are your intentions with the car?

I'm running a stock port 13b-re with a TD07-25G, I'd say it's in the mid 300s RWHP at 15psi. I think dirrectfreak made 370rwhp at 17psi with a stock ported 13b-re and a 63-1 turbo. After he yanked those cosmo sleeves and put FD ones in he made 380wrhp at 15psi with the same turbo on a hotter day. I think 450rwhp is a pipe dream with stock ports and pump gas. With high octane and 20+ psi it might be doable. Just my thoughts.

I would agree. I'm making 390+ with FD housings and ported RE plates. My turbo setup isn't optimal however. But 450+ isn't doable IMHO. Those stock exhaust ports are pretty restrictive!

^ well i didnt think 450 was very easily reachable. but just wanted to see what you guys thought. to me going single and making less then 400whp is a waste of money!

Why not just pull the motor apart and stick in FD/FC sleeves and be done with it?

Or you could make your own sleeves, that's what I've done once or twice.
