4 coil CDI igntion..

My current setup is motec m400 to AEM 4-channel cdi out to lx92 coils on leading and stock trailing coils. Well, I was thinking that the new twin fire AEM box was going to have all the bugs worked out from the last one, but it doesn't. Fried on me last week after driving it <10 miles since getting the car running... Keeps blowing the inline 20A fuse like a lot of the old ones did..

Anywho, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. The only real options for a single box to do what I need is either the Autronic or the Motec (M&W), and they are each ~$1k... I really don't want to pay that much for something so simple as a capacitive discharge ignition...

So I'm on the quest to find a setup that works for cheaper and isn't going to fry on me..

Anybody tried the crane cams 6DI2?? It would work if I were to use one box on leading and one on trailing, correct?

Let me know if anybody has any luck with any other CD setups on a 4 coil..

Thanks,
Aaron

If you're talking about the fireball setup I have it. I run 4 coils, two amps. One amp on each leading coil and have had no breakup issues as yet.

spend money for a m400 and now your going cheap?

buy the motec cdi/autronic 500r/m&w
or run ls1 coils and use the internal dwell of the motec...

hrmmm.. I am currently reading this thread, has some pretty interesting stuff on it. So far people are seeing noticeable improvements from cdi over a cop setup...
