Okay well i bought a sheet of mr.gasket exhaust gasket material and i made myself a 2bold DP gasket out of it. Put this on about 5days ago(220miles) and I noticed last nite that the bolts had kinda come lose and now the top part of the gasket is burned out. I dont know if it burned through and thats why have an exhaust leak or if it became lose and then with the hot gases escaping it burned a hole in it. Now my question is... Does this happen to many people? Should I use locktight? Should I put two gaskets together then tighten the bolts down?

 

get metal gaskets and tighten the bolts, and try using lock washers maybe?

 

Where can i get a 3inch 2bolt metal gasket??? I went to kragen...no way they have them. Ace auto doesn't have them, pepboys has nothing but 2inch dp gaskets. I strongly doubt autozone has them...
