15-18 psi 400hp?

i have a s5 turbo engine with stock ports haltech ,24x12x3 fmic ,550 primes, and 800 secs. with a t66 do you think I can get 400 hp running av gas at 15-18 psi. I have a t04b 60-1 right now but it spools a little slower than I like. I have searched but didnt find any usefull info. thank you.

What rpm range did you get full boost. Say 15psi? I thought my boost response was slow too but have nothing really to compare it to. The T04B 60-1 .96 turbo was refered to me to obtain 400rwhp at 15psi. Was thinking of changing it out to a .86a/r.

I didnt see full boost till around 5500 rpms in first and it would hold good boost through the rest of the gears with a 1.15 turbine but I was only running 10 psi then and had 2.5 " exhaust . I really think I am going to get the t-66 I think it was a .84 or .86 turbine cant remember. I really just wast to boost faster and have good power. Also it gives me a good reason to put the 60-1 on my stealth.

Do you guys think it will be enough fuel or should I go 800 primes and 1200 secs?

if thats the higest power your looking for, I think 550's and 1300's would do you just fine. I think that would hold you fine.

see the thing is the engine I have now has stock ports and I dont really want to buy fuel injectors again i think I am going to go 800 primes and 1600 secs. That way when i decide to port i should be able to get alot more without buying more injectors.

Going from a 60-1 (mid/small sized turbo) to a T66 (larger sized) your NOT going to see boost any sooner, infact you'll be seeing it later even with the smaller turbine housing. You want better response and 400whp at 15 psi, keep your 60-1 and put a smaller turbine housing on there. If divided manifold get a .84, 1.0 if its not a divided manifold, get either .81 or .96.

Get rid of that restrictive exhaust!!!!!! Nothing smaller then 3" straight through (you can have mufflers, just no baffles. Make sure there core type non luvered mufflers such as Magna flow, Racing Beat etc). You'll notice a HUGE difference in spool times (quicker).

And yeah, you'll need more fuel. 720/1600cc or more will do it provided you have a good pump and FPR.

RacerXtreme7 summed it up perfectly. Just keep the turbo you have now. You will see more lag if you move up to a T-66. But there are SEVERAL other options out there if you are dead set on getting a new turbo. And you will need a bigger fuel system too just like everyone else has said.

I really want to get a faster spooling turbo but I want to create good power and put the 60-1 on my stealth. I am going to look for a turbo with a .84 or close to that and like a .70 comp.

Wanting better spool and going BIGGER on the compressor side is counter productive. You have a turbo that has potentual to spool quick AND make just over 400 hp at the wheels. Going with a bigger turbo even with the smaller turbine A/R will still spool SLOWER.

And installing your 60-1 with the rather large 1.15 turbine onto a Stealth engine will be a super SUPER slow spooling slug.

If you plan on keeping that 60-1 and want something responsive, your going to need to change the turbine housing no matter what, be it for your Rx or Stealth (infact, if you want to use that on the Stealth, you'll need a even smaller turbine then what would be used on a rotary engine, and if you want it responsive, you should run a t3 turbine). BTW, it seems you don't understand the fact that you can pretty much get any T4 based turbo with any turbine A/R you want. There all interchangable for the most part, so changing A/R does not mean changing out then entire turbo or looking for a turbo with a specific A/R value.

why don't you check out the ever popular gt35r? It has the power you want with quicker spool time.
However, if you decide on the t66 you will not be disappointed. I went from a 60-1 non ball bearing 1.06 hotside fairly quick spool to a t66 and I love it! the spool is not all that bad-- and when it comes on.... oh **** boss you better hold on to something!
Yeah, either way you are going to need more fuel than the stock setup can provide. you might be safe with an upgraded supra tt fuel pump and larger secondaries.
