well after reading crazyrx7's post on fitment trouble. chuck your idea sounds pretty good. what size hose did you buy? also no trouble without it being flared?

ok so i did the fuel pump. i put a 5/16" hose straight from the pump to the hard line, double clamped, verdict: no change. then i put some freshly cleaned 550cc primary injectors in, verdict: slightly richer and smoother idle, but still leaning up top. so finally tonight i took it out again and just drove it to see if i noticed anything. well my base fuel pressure is set at 42 psi, which means at 12 psi, i should have 54 psi. well its only getting to 48-49 psi. finally getting somewhere. next i notice a slight fuel smell after a hard pull, then it goes away. well when i got home i looked around and found a slight leak where the fuel pressure guage connects. very slight though. i am guess its not so slight when under boost. so i did a test and raised my base pressure to 55 psi. didnt notice it leaking. so it must only happen under load. now would that cause a pressure drop or could it be the fpr???

The fuel filter might be plugged?

Try swapping out the fpr with a different one if you can. That way you can eliminate that out of the equation.

yea dubulup seems you were right. im going to order a aeromotive fpr this week. did get somewhere tonight though. checked my injector lag time and it was set at .30. then i checked a 1600 map that i got from a cool member on the forum and it was at .40. so i changed that tonight and at 12psi at 88% inj duty it was less then 10 afr's, it even broke up badly by 7200 it was so rich. (prior to the setting change i had 11.4 afr at 88% with 12psi.) but the pressure was still 48 psi. so once thats up at 52-54 psi. i should be back to normal. will post back when the fpr comes in. thanks to all for the help.

ps. also on that slight fuel leak i posted about. i tried sealing it today with no luck. i used that white pipe thread tape and it didnt seem to work. do i need more layers? or is there something better?

Teflon tape will get eaten by the gasoline. I just used thread lock instead.

Are you sure about that? Teflon is quite inert.

I tried and it would just eat the tape. Maybe there is better quality stuff out there than the stuff that I used but it didn't work for me or my buddy who was doing the same modding at the time.
