What type MSD amplifier do you guys use?
I was thinking of getting the Digital-6 Plus Ignition Control but I don't know if it will work with the FD ignition. I was reading about it and it didn't say anything about rotary settings. What would be a good amplifier?

fart on a friends head!!!
i have a digital 6. i havent tested it to see if it really works, but its plugged in and is the same installation as the other 6 series boxes. ill have to pull my plugs out and see how they fire.
i did notice that the light might not be coming on. i cant see it very well as its a little cluttered where its mounted. ill have to check it at night i guess.

Rotary Pro Pak
i suggest you check out the very latest model (just 3 months from intro) that comes from a Jacobs Electronics/Rotary Performance joint effort. it is the "Rotary Pro Pak" and was specifically designed for the rx7. there was a previous model that tended to fry coils but that has been straightened out. you probably don't need a spark amp unless you plan to make in excess of 375 rear wheel hp. another upgrade would be replacing the FD leading coil w the beefier FC coil.
if you are making in the 500 hp area it pays another 5-10% hp to run an amp on the trailing coils... (as per steve kan) BTW, i think the only source for the Rotary Pro Pak is Rotary Performance. it is priced in the mid $300s

In regards to the MSD units, we have good luck with the Digital 6's units.. the standard 6A seem not to last as long and we actually saw a 6A box fry up in front of of our eyes
a great alternative is the Crane Hi-6
good luck!
