600+ rwhp

Hey everyone, i have been doing some research, and i was hoping some of the pros could take a look and tell me if im on the right track with this list of mods...My goal is to do a Single Turbo conversion!
Will this get in the 600hp range, im sure i will have to run race gas........Thanks

Large Street Port w/3mm apex seals (dowelpinned)
GT 35/40 Single Turbo Kit
Greddy 3 Row FMIC
Apexi PFC w/commander
850 primaries
1600 secondaries
500+ Fuel Secondary Fuel Rail
Fuel Pressure Regulator
ACT 6 puck clutch
Aluminum Flywheel
Koyo Radiator
Greddy Pully Kit
Unorthodox Main Drive Pully
AST

Plus...
Toe Links
Trailing Arms
and that I think is pretty much it!!!!

If you can, PLEASE tell me if im missing anything importent. I would appreciate it very much. Happy Rotoring!!!! Thanks a bunch!!!

That turbo is not even close. A T51, a GT42, maybe a PT67H. I do not believe anyone has posted an SAE dyno over 440 on a 3540 (nocab show us your stuff...). Also you need an ignition. To make the power you are talking about you will need more than money, you need a tuner that knows his shit, and is willing to spend the time to do this. Good luck, Carl Byck

600 rwhp wont happen.. thats a huge task..definately not easy, especially with no nitrous also... set your goals more reasonable...shoot for 400 rwhp first with that set-up... for sure a bigger turbo and alot of tuning will be needed for 600 rwhp..and the cost of blowing a couple of motors ;)

good luck

Disclaimer: I don't know very much and there are much more knowledgable people than me that are on this boards.

Don't listen to the player haters. I have seen and tuned the big dogs and they are real.

I think the upgraded T-78 spools about as fast as the GT-35/40, with more CFM up top and high. Without the upgraded compressor wheel it's a little high-rpm strung for me.

1) Make that engine a PineApple. Ask for the Nocab port and tell Rob you want it to idle like Jason's car, with the same vacuum improvements. I don't think you need 3mm unless you're going to let KDR tune the car. Break the engine in like Rob says. Remember, you could use someone elses engine, but your results could vary. Talk to Jason and he'll order you one up to the same specs.
2) More ignition, run 9's all the way around. Might even need 10's. You'll need an ignition amp. HKS TwinPower or MSDs.
3) Fuel. Aspec's setup is good, with the surge tank. If base pressure is 40psi, you'll need a pump setup that will give you 60psi at 20psi boost, at the rails. Bosch flows to 79psi. Lookie at www.maxcooper.com and check out the fuel calculator. Roll your own fuel setup. Send me a pm and I'll tell you my setup. Talk to Shawn or Steve at Aspec, too.
4) Tuning. You have a great foundation in the PineApple block. You have the fuel and spark along with the cool air. If you can't bring all that to the right place at the right time you're going to be h8ing like Carl and Steve (no disrespect intended...never met Carl, his tone is kinda w3rd, but Steve is cool and has a SWEET ride! Dittos on Shawn with that orange beast!) Get a good base tune and learn how to monitor and tweak from the tuner. Ask for a ride in a car he has tuned. Before and after maps makes for 2 fun rides. You're going to spend some cash tuning the car. Might as well learn as you go and get the Datalogit and TE WB O2. If you make it that much easier for the tuner, they will probably give you better support after the tuning session (read: you send them updated logs and they continue to tweak your maps and send them via email).

With the right foundation (read: engine) and tuning you can make the turbo sing. Without the right foundation and tuning, your kick-arse turbo is going to be a door stop.

Good luck!

Edit: Upgrade your engine mounts, add more ground straps, think about upgraded diff and half-shafts, the sprung 6-puck is really not that bad at all, get more braking power, get a coil-over suspension, and keep the exterior stock-looking for that WTF Sleeper look! :D

Alcohol injection is a great way to get there.

Dougie_fresh_007 05-06-03 10:02 PM

3 rotor ? lol....

ya that gt35/40 isnt near big enuf... if cost is a factor... get the t88?? is that big enuf... its not that expensive... umm

water/meth injection good stuff

ceramic coat all ur pipes... every last bit counts..... hmm..

bridgeport baby... fuck it peripheral port... its streetable.. :D im thinkin bout doin it wit my new motor :)

93redFD 05-06-03 10:49 PM

lots if fucking boost!!!

AJC13B 05-07-03 01:37 AM

That turbo won't make the power. It will make over 500rwhp, but won't go to 600

And I would get a Haltech before the Apexi :D

Badog 05-07-03 09:46 AM

Get the ECU that has the best user-base/tuner NEAR you. Your ECU is as good as the tune on it.

I was wondering, do i really have to have a coilover suspension, i mean, my car is dropped with tein springs and i got potenza dampers, but thats bout it, Thanks alot fellas, anyone have anymore suggestions or advice on helping reach my goal. ahhaha thanks again

Not esstential, but it's nice to adjust ride height! Also, when you start putting down that big power, it's nice having some beef back there.

Oh! Get a Racelogic traction control, too!

MARKMEMCAJ 05-07-03 04:16 PM

couldn't i get some koni adjustable struts or some shit like that???????

MARKMEMCAJ 05-07-03 04:22 PM

i forgot to also add fuel pump in the beginning, i started out with 500+ and then lost it, LOL ahah, but anyways, ummm yea, basically i want the car to haul some major asss, as for the tuning im having Cam do it for me, i know hes kick ass at that sorta shit, one more thing, is there really a need to go with 3mm seals and have the block dowelpinned, i was just wondering!!!! Thanks

MARKMEMCAJ 05-07-03 04:27 PM

Also i have the Accel racing ignition, multi strike, or sumthing or other!!!! Feed me all the ifo you got, LOL Thanks!!

ttpowerd 05-08-03 12:26 PM

How old are you and if you are anything around what I believe....how are you paying for all of this???

If you have the golden wallet just put a 3 rotor in there and find a turbo big enough to push mid to high 20psi numbers and you should be there.

es 05-08-03 12:58 PM

I personally have seen too may broken Pettit motors to trust one. I've split one open after it cracked an apex seal & didn't like what I saw on the inside. It looked basically like a stock build with 3mm seals. EVERYBODY else who builds motor will at the very least replace the thermopellet with a plug! The front rotor chipped an apex seal, but the rear housing was used & had a HUGE gouge running accross the top of the housing & into the compression zone!

Go with the Pinnapple motor. He doesn't re-use housings, & he does oil modifications to reduce the oil temp. The result is fewer hotspots on the rotor face & less of a chance of detonation.

I don't like 3mm apex seals. I've seen 3 blown motors with 3mm seals so I personally don't think they're worth fuking up the rotors for! 3mm Ceramics could be fine, but I have no experience with them.

Race clearance the rotors!

You might want to consider ceramic apex seals.

Badog 05-08-03 01:30 PM

Es said it all. Get the Pineapple. I'm ordering mine this week. Along with a GT 35/40. If the vendors would play nicer in taking my money.

MARKMEMCAJ 05-08-03 05:52 PM

ttpowerd, im not exactly sure what you mean, but anyway, thanks to you and the rest of the crew for the advice!!!!

93redFD 05-09-03 01:37 AM

he's saying, dont buy one of cams engines, they suck!!!
I dont know much about pettit

MARKMEMCAJ 05-09-03 12:49 PM

93redFD, try reading the post over again, i was refering to " How old are you and if you are anything around what I believe....how are you paying for all of this???" quote by TTpowered!!!! Yes im a young cat, but who really cares, age is only a number, LOL

MARKMEMCAJ 05-09-03 12:55 PM

o yea, i was wondering if couldn i get some tokiko adjustable struts, instead of the coilovers, like i posted earlier, i have tein springs with potenza dampers. I was thinking the adjustable struts would help me raise and lower the car with the tein springs. Holla Back!! Thanks

ttpowerd 05-09-03 02:08 PM

I was just curious how old you were and wondered how you were paying for it all. Must have a great job! Not hating by any means :p:

Coilovers will give you more room for bigger tires which you will need if you are pushing 600 hp to the wheels.

Koni adjustables are stiffness adjustable, not height adjustable. You need coilovers for height adjustment, or those crappy GC coilover sleeves.

Decay 05-09-03 02:41 PM

I'm willing to bet that this "said car" never reaches 300whp

:hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :bsflag:
I had to do it Mark lol
