What did you do with/for your 7 this Thanksgiving weekend

So what did you do this weekend for or woth your FD? Take a long ride? Buy some Black Friday goodies for your car? Show off to your friends and family just how thankful you are for the car? Post some stories on what you did and why your thankful for your car.

Me? I didnt do anything with my 7 this holiday only because of an oil leak and bad motor mounts (Got my Banzai Oil Pan Brace and Mounts in though ). The wife however did let me hit up Sears on Black Friday and buy $800 worth of tools Got a new 14 drawer tool chest, Impact wrench, Ratchet Wrench, Impact Sockets, 20 Gal. Air Compressor, a 260 pc. Mechanics Tool Set, 1/2in Torque Wrench, 3/4 Torque Wrench, and a Buffer/Polisher kit (always find something you want even though you werent there for it).

Now if only I can talk her into letting me get a lift for the garage....

damn man, sorry about your FD. hope you recover well from the accident

i spent my weekend overlooking the car because some ******* decided to break into it and steal my boost controller. i suffered no loss tho, it was broken and not functioning properly. it was something the previous owner had purchased not me.

they couldve jacked more stuff but they didnt so i was lucky in the end. i triple checked to see if anything else was missing, but nothing else was taken. people have no respect.

so i'm assuming you made a left turn and didn't yield to oncoming traffic...? or did someone run a red light?

must have been one or the other to get t-boned in the passenger's side.

anyway i spent my thanksgiving by first driving from NY > FL (as you probably saw my thread) and then enjoyed cruising around town all week.

smoked a few cars on the interstate (from 60mph rolls): a C5 corvette, a C6 corvette, and my friend's 2004 supercharged saleen mustang.

also pulled the bose junk out of the trunk (finally...).

leaving her down here for the winter. going to have a '99 spec bumper installed and the hood painted. looking forward to driving her in the spring/summer

damn glad you survived that

me I replaced a bent rear hub, then killed my clutch (which I thought was a heavy duty one according to the prev owner) sucker didn't even take one 4500rpm launch on the street on my regular street tires.

Went on a short cruise thanksgiving and got gas. NO ONE was on the roads. I was happy.

Saturday another quick run but didnt stay out long cause it was windy as hell and my car was getting pushed off my lane i was in lol

Sunday went for a nice long cruise, a couple of pulls to clean the stuff out. Was gonna wash it since i think sunday was probably the last nice day until spring (it was 56 degrees) but i got lazy after the cruise and decided not to do it lol

I just hope we get another mild day in the mix of the next couple of weeks so i can do one last good wax job on the car for the winter.

I cleaned out my garage enough to park the FD inside for the winter. **

** Purists might scream at me letting it outside all summer but it's been ready for a repaint and there isn't enough room for a lawnmower and FD together. I'll be getting a backyard shed when the FD is finally repainted.

Integrals: if you were in trauma I hope you and anyone else involved is ok. I also hope the parties not responsible for the accident aren't left holding the bill.

The accident was a double fault.

We were boty turhing left on a green light. One heading south, one heading n0orth.

The other guy decided that he wanted to go straight and at that point I had already committed to the left had turn and had no where to go.

He walked away with a airbag burn.

I ended up with severe lascerations and punctures to my right side of my arm and body and some severe nerve reactions but will be ok. Spent 4 hours in Trauma

I am thankful my FD protected me to the point that I am on this planet still considering it as a closing speed of about 50mph directly on the side.

yes i was wearin a seatbelt.

At this point the fault has been placed on both parties.

I got failure to yield, he got failure to properly signal before a lane change.

Im thankful no one was hurt in the VAN that hit me.

Wow! I think most of us have been in similar situations, but escaped with just close calls. Glad you're going to be OK.

FD's are replaceable, your life is not. thank god nothing major happend to ya.

I went from a 60mm wastagate to twin 44's

got new wheels, triple disk clutch, relocated the turbo, did some more ducting, covered the tranny tunel with some silver foil and some of the engine bay, got some new spark plugs, replaced some vacuum lines.

Integral: Thank God your ok. The way I look at it the guy in the Van is definitely at fault. You can turn left at a green there's no failure to yield there in my eyes. Stupid law. God man I hope **** goes better for you in the future, what ever it holds for you.

Your attitude is much better than mine would be. I understand how the law is written that it's a no-fault (dual fault) situation, but there is little you can do to protect yourself from a vehicle that illegally changes lanes at 50mph like that.

If I had to "yield" for any vehicle that could possibly make an illegal lane change and hit me I'd get absolutely nowhere. This goes beyond basic defensive driving. Any vehicle not separated by concrete could put you in this position.

Get well, take your time, hopefully you heal well.

Dave

Sounds odd if he got a ticket for a illegal lane change, its obvious that caused the accident.
