my new car

well here is my new ( 3 days ago ) rx7 1987 tII
i am the second owner
it has 197000 km on it and its 100% stock
every thing works, i think the ac still does but im a windows down kinda guy...
did a little basic tune up like oil chnage, new filter, spark plugs.i orderd the wires and ill get them at the end of the week.. ( accel wires any good?> )

here are pics .. maybe ill make this a work log cause i have alot of questions and no owners manual ( cant order one from anywhere )

and theres my other car.. 96mx-3

i also payed 2700 for the car..

i had a few questions maybe i could get some help with.. i was going to get rid of the air box and throw a filter on but i have ac and the hose from it connects to the box.. can i just leave it vented or can i put some screen on it and leave it with out a hose ?

anyways let me know what u think ..

Nice car man .... You got that for 2.7k in canada? I got mine for $5k and it was same year and condition. Except my mileage was 124k km's.

I think the hose you're referring to is for the air pump, not the A/C. For people who do a custom airbox and plan to keep the air pump, I've seen some people either rig up a special small filter for the air pump or try to run the air pump intake hose through whatever air filter system they end up settling on. Incidentally, do a search on "Cold Air Box" because just "throwing a filter on" without building a sealed enclosure will probably hurt performance more than it will help it and will be worse than just buying a new filter element for the stock airbox.

Check in the FAQ threads near the top of this section. There are links for downloading the Factory Shop Manual (FSM) which will be a great help to you in figuring stuff out. I also think the Haynes manual is helpful for quick reference. There is also some useful information in the actual Owner's Manual itself; you can probably find one on eBay if you really want it for not too much money. They seem to come up often.

I had a set of Accel plug wires a few years back on my NA and they were decent quality, but not really any cheaper than the OEM NGK style and not quite as well made. After a year or two, the metal clip inside one of the spark plug jackets broke off on my set and I've never had that experience with the NGKs.

Your car looks great and it sounds like an excellent price. Congratulations!

Awesome car. The interior is so clean and even has the stock radio! I think the best part of it is that the stock S4 front lip is still there. Congrats with the buy! I wish my arctic silver TII looked that good...

too bad you started modding it. you dont see too many stock TII's on the road any more. the car will be worth far more in the long run unmodified. nice car though. what kind of shape was the stock exhaust in?

Although I personally agree with this advice, to each his own. That said, it would be smart to save all the useable original parts you take off in case you ever do need to sell the car. It will make it worth more to the next buyer.
