I have an 83 rx-7 and the oil pressure gauge only works when the wind blows the right way so I bought an aftermarket one, but can't seem to locate the oil pressure sender.

So could someone tell me were the sender is?
(sorry, I'm still a n00b)

 

This is a GSLSE, but they are the same.

 

BTW Aftermarket gauge will need to use its own sending unit. I've never heard of one that works with the stock sending unit.

Its a mechanical gauge that comes w/ an adapter, but from that picture I'm not sure if it will work.

damn... I guess I'll just shell out the $30 for the glowshift sender adapter... oh well, wanted to set up an oil temp gauge anyways

 

If you have or can borrow a 3/8" NPT tap, cut the head off of the stock 'mushroom' sending unit, tap it and most aftermatket gauges come with a 3/8" NPT adapter for the new sending unit. If you want to keep your stock gauge and sending unit, tap the banjo bolt that holds the oil line to the bottom of the rear iron, either way is quite simple.

Thread pitch for the stock sending unit is 28 BSPT, (British Standard Pipe Thread).
