show in Good and Bad member section, Eddie and Sench just ripped me off. SOld me a smoking motor and wont give me a refund. Im posting it just in case he is not aware of the other thread

here are duplicates from the original thread.
To make a long story short, they listed a N/A 6 port motor for sale for $300. I got it for $250. Installed it my son's FB. It ran good except the motor was smoking. I pulled the motor immediately and the front header was soaked with oil. Told Eddie about it but I got several excuses that his buddy was busy so I couldnt drop off the motor and get my refund. I have the PMs that went on between Eddie and I.
Now, his buddy wotn give me a refund and he blamed me for blowing the motor. I explained to him that the motor is not blown except it wont stop smoking which an indication that this motor has more than 100K miles, not 67K miles, as they advertised. so here's the link @ west forum.

lol what! It sucks whats aboutto happen to them is what goes around comes around.. people like that don't understand they just crapped there repuation. thats one of the hardest things to repair on this forum and in society.

If you got the "non-smoking" claim in writing or any other kind of warrantee on paper you're good. If you didn't the seller owes you nothing. Used parts are assumed sold as is. It can be a crappy situation for everyone considered, but it's not a scam if the sellers didn't know... After all, how does the seller know that the smoking issue isn't related to a poor install on your behalf? Isn't it a bit presumptuous to claim smoking (or not) is tied to someone LYING about a mileage. 25 year old rotaries at 67k miles NEVER smoke you know...
I'm not saying you're wrong to ask for a refund as I don't know the specifics of the deal but it's a bit annoying to see everyone jumping in on one side when none of us know the details of your situation.

I can some what agree with your statement, how ever given the circumstances mel and the seller did speak over the phone.. not to mention Mel seems to be a vet when it comes to 13b engines. even if the seller didn't know the internal condition of the engine.. It would be his responsibility to inspect the goods to cover his *** in case of such mishaps.... at least if i was the seller thats what i would do...
regardless there are some key factors of a shady deal... when someone wont return your calls.. thats a big red flag. just my 2 cents..

There's a world of difference between "in writing - legally binding" and "gentlemen's agreement - verbal contract" when it comes to a person's reputation within a community. The difference between 'legal responsibility' and 'personal responsibility' is in large part a measure of someone's character.
A person's reputation hinges a lot more on their word, than it does upon what might be 'legally enforceable.'
It looks like Eddie is working to make this right with Wacky; that right there speaks to concern for personal reputation and interest in doing what's right... not just what's 'legally enforceable' based upon written contract.
If everybody worked to live up to their own word and a standard of fairness (both the buyers and the sellers), we wouldn't need 95%+ of the law and government we have to deal with.
Most people don't, of course, sad to say; but it's good to recognize it and respect it when they do.

I get paid on Wed so I'll see if I can at least give you half. What I dont understand is WHY you took apart the motor since you said it was bad. Now I get to pick up pieces instead of a whole??? I dont know I think its weird since you WERE and ARE planning on returning it?

If it were blown, why would you take it apart? Then i find out you recently purchased a blown motor from a local. Hmmm...all of a sudden you have pictures of a nasty motor that you cant guarantee was the one you bought from me. How do i know you aren't taking the good parts from my motor and the one you just bought and returning nothing but junk to me? Im sorry but i sold you a complete motor and you cant provide that anymore so the deal is off. You took a risk in buying an old motor and now you cant give me what is mine

you have a good point Eddie. However i think its void. I mean, even if mel did take the motor apart to conclude that it was faulty its still fault if its put back together.. on the note of him taking the good parts outta the motor.. well thats on him.. i would trust that even if he is a lil disgruntled about the sale you shouldn't just jump and assume that he would do such a thing.. im not taking sides.. but it wouldn't be ethical.

wow, you're still trying to save your face and your "not-so good reputation." I had a feeling that you wont be giving me a refund so I took the motor apart to see what is else is wrong. Here are my finding: high mileage motor (ehem, 67K miles
) and overheated If you cant even afford to pay "Lil Red" for selling him a junk motor, my chance of getting paid is very slim. Your reaction was a little too late since I posted it on the other thead last week along with pictures

Come on Eddie, you're forgetting that if I can afford to gamble every weekend, why would I do something like that? In addition, I have several motors that just need to be assembled (yes, these are in better condition that the one you sold me). Secondly, forum members that knows me can "vouch" that I can afford to buy anything I want but I just want a simple life. So dont compare me with your life style Eddie. And yes, I picked up another block from Rene since you said you were going to refund me (but you lied-refer to PM's in the other thread). His motor is still in-tact and sitting in the garage. and yes, it is a rebuildable long block with ECU and harness. I will be rebuilding it and it will be donated to another member whose FC has a blown motor. I think I forget to mention that my son's FB has been running right after D1.
Now, as I mentioned in my recent PM to you, I have a what we call "honor" and if you think I will rip you off for $250, again, you are 100% wrong. This thread is not about the $$$, but it is mainly to "prove" that you are "shady" and "not trust worthy." Do you know how many e-mails I got from other forum members about their bad experience with you? More than a handful. Dont trust smiling faces.
