I was wondering if anyone has converted a 2nd gen rx7 which had engine speed sensing power steering to a vehicle speed sensing power steering???

I'm trying to make a S5 Tii vehicle speed sensing power steering into a S5 89 GTU which came with the engine speed sensing power steering.

What I know so far:
- Get a vehicle speed sensing power steering (3 lines instead of 2)
- I know the rack needs to be changed, OR plug off the thin pressure line from the power steering pump (only use the large pressure line and the return line).
- Change the power steering computer to a vehicle speed sensing one (I heard that all the S4 computers will work as well)
- Then you have to figure out the wiring...

I am having problems figuring out the wiring part, I'm not sure what is the actual difference between the two computer/wiring.

 

OK, I looked at both s4 and s5 wiring diagrams because I'll be using a s4 power steering control unit with a s5 Tii power steering pump. I'm confused... are the Stepping Motors on the s4 VSSP different then the s5 VSSP?

 

yeah hi i am a noob and i just bought this rx7 its a 92 i think. the guy said it had 3 rotors or something? i thought cars had 4 rotors, one for each wheel? i dont think he knew what he was talking about. well newayz i think i got ripped off a little on the price i tried to talk him down but i couldnt. oh well my parents are payin for it! hehe. yeah that guy was pretty tricky. newayz (again lol), i went online to see what engine mods i could do cuz rotarys are slow i heard. i saw that my car only has a 1.3 and im like oh man a honda could beat this! they at least have 1.6! so i wanted to get a V8 cuz nothings got more power than them. i took the car to the shop and they said thay could put a ls1 in it for a pretty good price so i did it now ill be faster than anyone on the streets! i just gotta get my parents to give me thier credit card so i can get more stuff. i already have the underglo and nos seat covers. those are trick. newayz sorry for jackin your thread. oh and i have a question i sawz you had a problem with your power steering i have a problem too. i wanna hook up this nos i bought to my V8. can i get some help? whats a fuel rail? this may be a little harder than i thought, but i think i can do it. gosh these forums are a good idea. ok peace brothaz

 

Someone needs to educate this noob... And about the power steering, as far as I know there was no change to the pump between zenki/kouki models but someone please confirm this.

Hey, forestintruder might be a dumbass, but the 89 GTU has the cheap *** power steering (engine speed P/S), and I am trying to convert to the S5 T2(JDM vehicle speed P/S). There are different so before you say something stupid, do some research. If nobody wants to help me, thats fine, but I am trying to get my S5 Tii power steering Pump to work by running wires through the firewall and using the S4 control unit. (wire from control unit to ground, speed-sensor, ignition, 6 to P/S stepping motor). So if anyone can say something smart and not retarded, it would be greatly appreciated(like: does anyone know if the color codes on the stepping motor wiring different on JDM power steering?).

I have read both S4 and S5 wiring schematics, but I do not have the JDM S5 ones.
