Question Efan Kits?

I'm getting a new radiator and I decided that It would probly be a good idea to get an Electric fan while im at it. I've looked on all the usual websites (Mazdatrix, rx7. corksport, etc.) not including ebay and I can't find any kits for an Electric fan, if anyone knows a good site to find one It would help.

Also If someone knows where I can find a step by step for installation I could use that info also.

87 N/A: No mods as of yet but hope to change that very soon

2 ways to go about it....
easy and simple:
flex a lite black magic for 199 with built in thermo switch and fan shroud
www.summitracing.com
or

permacool 16 for 99 then 20 for thermo switch, 20 for relays and connectors then fabbing up a shroud for the fan...
also from www.summitracing.com

I dont know very much about mechanics as it is, but from what I do know, the electric fan runs off power from your battery/alternater and not from the pulley system, so it gives you some more horsepower because its not straining your engine at all. Same concept as removing your AC (except you save weight also).

Why? If your clutch fan works okay there are no gains to be had.

BTW, I was putting around online and came across this, which I thought looked like an awesome cheap and good e-fan... check it out, let me know if you buy one 'cause I want to know how good they are.

NZConvertible if your fan is'nt attached to the engine its giving it more power correct? Thats what I was told because its not connected to your engine, thus, not draining power. If im wrong tell me cuz i just may keep my clutch fan then. Seems like everyone wants an Efan eventually.

You mean it's not drawing any power from the engine. This is the case of the stock fan too. When the fan is not required the thermoclutch almost completely disengages it from the engine. The fan is only fed just enough power to keep the engine temps stable when the car is travelling slowly or stopped. The actual difference in power to the wheels between a thermoclutch or electrical fan is negligible and not noticable.

If you want an electric fan you have to make sure you do it right. A stock fan with a working thermoclutch will give you zero problems, but a half-assed e-fan install will cause cooling and/or charging problems.
