don't think so, it b/c every car is a little different so it would be hard to make a preprogrammed ecu.

The tuning varies even on the density of air ie whats the above sea level you are found, also weather condition, also different fuels in different countries.

So each program has to be made on each car separately.

How does mazda do it then? All the turbo rx7's have the SAME ecu , I guess it can be done, huh.

No it cant. The only thing you can use "already tuned maps" is for a base maps. It will be alot easier to tune.
They dont make any turbo kit that comes with a programed ecu. Im sure you could talk to some of the shops and have them sell you a kit with a ecu that has some sort of a base map, but they will just jack up the price a extra 1200 bucks. You cant beat fuel management, you have to have it.

Answer the question...How does mazda do it then? I'm talking about ALL the stock mazda FD's (straight from the Factory). I thought NO 2 engines were the same? Next time, comprehend what you're reading.

The Mazda oem ecu works because they have the fuel maps set very rich, the timing is very conservative, the computer incorporates a knock sensor, and has a boost cut.

There is no reason a vendor could not provide a fully set-up package with a conservatively tuned stand-alone ecu to go with it. In fact, I believe that the RX7 Store DOES do this.

You need a stand-alone to run a single turbo because of the huge number of variables in different turbo setups and for the changes to the fuel system. It wouldn't make sense to try to add daughter-boards to the stock ecu (like Pettit and M2 do) for every single different turbo set-up.

LouisM: If you are worried about $1k for a stand-alone ecu, going single turbo is not for you....

ok, what the other persons ports are larger? What if the injector's are a hair smaller/larger, what if the other persons turbo is in better condition and flow little more.?
ALL CARS ARE DIFFERENT! your a damn idiot if dont understand that. Whats the chances of them having map with 100% same parts your car has on it?? Cheap ***

93redFD - You need to get some reading comprehension, lol. I'm talking about a factory Rx-7. I think RYNBERG sum'd it up pretty good<- thanks.

The stock unit works on a speed density system. The more boost, the richer it gets........but its a very poor setup. Hense, when adding more than a couple mods, you lean out too much and will blow your motor. Soooo Mazda did not do it!

what a min, the orginal question was is there a full system?

The answer, NO

I think you are forgetting that the stock ecu SUCKS!!!! so if you want to buy a full system that has a base map that equally SUCKS then go ahead. No reputable tuner is going to make such a system.
