Back in an FC again, I call it the time capsule.

Wasnt going to make a thread but saw J-Rats and.... So I started looking for mint S5 TII about 6 months ago, theres not a lot out there fellas, hold onto the good ones if you gottem. I finally said to hell it with it, a clean S5 N/A will do as well, finally came across a guy in Houston that had a mint 91 N/A... he wanted 5k.... for an N/A. After some discussion some things happened and I decided that I needed the car, dude was the 2nd owner, his dad drove the Gatorade IMSA RX3, the car was the color I wanted, Blaze Red, that was the most important thing. I'm just copy and paste the texts from the p/o because lazy.

Also, this car has a bunch of special parts on it. One being the rare GTUs rear end with LSD and matching speedometer gear. Turbo II 4 piston brakes with dimpled and slotted rotors. Full Racing Beat exhaust (Headers back to rear mufflers). Racing Beat springs. Tokiko Illumina adjustable struts/shocks. Mazdatrix strut bar. Mazda competition racing aluminum radiator. Mazda competition heavy duty clutch. There's a few other things but you get the idea.

I was the second owner of this car and got it in 1993. It spent the first year of its life at Mazda Research as an example of the last of the FC's. My dad used to race SCCA Showroom Stock and his racing buddy worked at Mazda R&D. When I bought it, we gave that guy the VIN. He ran the number and said he knew that car very well. Small world I guess. I love this car and always took care of it. I don't have time for it anymore and so it sits in my garage. It's just not right. The car needs to go to someone that'll appreciate it. That's why I couldn't ever sell it to just a goober looking for a 90's sports car. It needs to go to rotary enthusiast.

The car is was such a time capsule, reminded me of my car from high school, boston acoustic sound system, momo bits, TSW wheels, I even found a motorola pager under the seat, so good. Anyways, onto the pics.

car has 30k on a rebuild, probably 6 port turbo build with pfc or haltech, coilovers, wheels, turbo seats, some stock tii side skirts if i can find any, and then leave it be. I might even leave it n/a but lets be honest, i dont think thats possible.

Very nice looking Blaze Red N/A>

I am going to take a look at a pristine S5 N/A myself next weekend. 60K on the rebuild. Mild add-ons just a really sweet and clean car. I think 5200 might be high but I really need to see the car first.
Just wish it had a LSD rear end!

That thing is clean, the lightweight model, try and score you an 88 GTU rear end.

It was a rad feeling, I sold my last FC about 7 years ago, such a fun car to drive. I've owned quite a few cars these last 7 years but none as fun as the FC (okay the 8 is still way fun)

The Cresta was neat but was Auto so not that fun, 1JZ turbo was nice and the lsd worked great though

RX-8 is a blast to drive, really makes you want to beat the **** out of it, terrible fuel economy

IS300 1JZ-VVTi swap made this car fun, W55 kept it from full party machine

BMW 540i/6 was dope, you can see my FD in the background here

FB was a blast, I also owned an eg civic at this time

And an S4 vert that was meh

Bought a truck to trailer cars at some point, the kids were so small

I wish I wouldve never let this one go, such a party machine

which brings me back to the FC, thing had minty fresh interior and a holset hx52, did 415rwhp at one bar

Good times

Looks like a very well sorted example. Plus, knowing the history on the car makes the car that much better in my opinion.

It needs some Savanna fog lights

I wouldn't worry about it being NA you can always put (in US words) a Turbo II in there

I would never swap the car, the 6 port motors take a turbo just fine, still playing with it, i really like the way it looks right now.

Looks great! I too have heard the S5 6 port block can handle some boost if done correctly. (Maybe 5lbs or so??) Swapping seems like ALOT of work, would rather just find a T2 car. Our N/A cars are not the fastest by today's standards, but damn they are fun to drive!
