No love for the 96+ enfini whale tail ?

I see so many people with the feed typ spoiler and 99spec
hardly any love for the whale tail. I like to see if anyone out there have 99spec front with whale tail instead of the 99spec wing

give the look a little more variety. Lately I've been debating to do 99spec or 96+ with my soon to be 99spec conversion

I seriously thought about running one for a while. It is pretty small and subtle. I've seen a few in person and they look good.

I think it was only from 96-98 that they had that spoiler and the car had the early front bumper.

I have NO idea on the mounting holes on it, though.

The mounting holes are different to the others. Imo it's the best looking of the factory spoilers.

I have one and a spare hatch, but I still prefer wingless.

Here is someone that has one installed, or at least used to from some of the pictures.

No good pictures, but I like the whale-tail. The 99 spec adjustable was probably the most functional, but personally I always thought it looked a little heavy and my car is street driven these days. I was never crazy over stock S6, it seemed a bit busy. Picked up my 96 version some years ago for cheap and finally had it painted and installed early last spring.

Personally not a fan of any of the wings that came on the car. I like the wingless look or Low Profile Tail Light Spoiler from shine auto.

BC Series 7 is the new Series 8

As Series 7 are relatively more rare, perhaps that series is the one to emulate.

Some stuff on the RX7 just dont age well. The whale tail is one of those... Sorry but that def look like it was designed in the early 90s. Just my opinion. However, if you are going to do the whale tail, go with the pre-99 bumper to at least keep it looking period correct.

Really the whole car screams "90's"... soft edges, organic lines and curves. It's aged well, but it looks nothing like a modern sports car IMO. But I get what you're saying. Personal preference of exactly which 90's look you want.

I think there are a lot of old world sports car references in the 90's bubble design language
