GSL-SE wheel selection

Hey all, need some help/ideas for 15" wheels for my car. Very soon to go to body/paint,want to get this resolved before car is painted in event some massaging needs to be done,i'd prefer none but you know.. like Minilites had on a Tr6 years ago,Konig Rewinds would fit the bill but not made in proper offset. 15"x6.5 or 7" tire size 205/50 or 55/15. Have invested lot of time searching for a spoked wheel with polished rim without finding what i'm looking for. Not interested in using spacers to make something work, would like something hubcentric and something affordable, have a budget i need to stay within. Whaddya got?

Never got any response to this thread, from then til now have been researching options. Missed out on used set of Watanabes couple months ago$$$. Like panasports, again$$$,even used, nearly never come up for sale. Looked into Superlight wheels, talked with manufacturer, they make a Minilite reproduction. Rota another name i looked into, they make an exact reproduction of the panasport wheel RB it's called-much cheaper. Seen some less than glowing reviews about some of their products. Found a thread where a member here installed a set on an SE several years ago. Any body have any opinions on or experience with their wheels?

I believe 82transam on the forum here has a set of Rota's new wheels, I'll see if he responds with a picture of them. They look killer whatever they are!

I'm running Epsilon Center Locks in 16" on my FB with SE suspension. Also I have a set of Enkei 15" that will be getting some super grippy tires for the track days with the FB.

Thanks, that'd be great. Some of negative reviews targeted the newer versions of their wheels with thin spokes. The RB series i'm interested in has thicker spokes, don't think this would apply to them. Am concerned with runout, concentricity, want a true running wheel. Pics of finish on wheels on website look great, wonder how it holds up over time.

I went with this wheel, as it comes in the right bolt pattern and off-set in 15". (15" 4-114.3 with a 40 offset and 6.5" wide.) Went with Yokohama S-Drive tires that made the overall diameter just about a perfect match for the stock GSL-SE wheels and tire size. No more rubbing than stock even though it is a little wider...

Thanks for the response, did you have tire contact on your car with oe wheel/ 205/60/14 tire? I've seen those wheels on their website before, where on the car do they rub?

Do you know offset specs for those wheels, what is diameter of 16" tire compared to 205/60/14 on original wheel, what's speedo accuracy?

Check out my gearing and tyre size calculator spreadsheet here: AusRotary.com ? View topic - Wheel Sizing, Gearing, and Speedometer Spreadsheet

It allows you to plug in different gearing, diff ratios and tyre sizes to compare the engine speed at different vehicle speeds and vehicle speed at different rpms. It's in metric but will still demonstrate % speed differences.

What kind of wheels are they, thought i saw a post in your build thread with the size(s)but can't seem to find it. Looks as if a fender flare will be needed.

17in x 7 in front 25 offset I believe
17in x 8.25 rear 35 offset I believe

no flares.. I dont like them... but depending on the rubber we can fit and how it sits we will start with fender rolling, then possibly look into pulling (massaging) the fenders out... I like factory lines.. so before we paint we will sort it out...

I went with staggered Enkei Apache IIs... 15x7 205/50 Falken Zeix in front and 15x8 225/50 Falkens in the rear. I need a 1/4" spacer on the front to clear the spring perch tho. Otherwise no rubbing at the stockish height I ran then.

Enkei Front 7" +38 (need spacer with this offset for the sidewall to clear the spring perch.. if you're a stretched-tire guy you might be able to clear)
Rear 8" +25

PS my sig pic below is old before I swapped rims.

Sorry I just checked this now... yeah lemme see, I have an older one here from when I first got them on:

Hope this helps

Oh and I don't do the RWL anymore. I initially put it on w/paint pen but doesn't hold up well cause of sidewall flex. It just cracks and peels off after a short time.

i really don't want to. the front tucks fine and the rear if you jack one side up will also tuck into the fender well. i'd like to try to pull the rear a tad bit more. If i went with a 215/45 the tread would be tucked but that defeats the point of the wide wheels/tires, but i just raised the car up a bit and don't leave the shocks on their softest setting. so far so good. here's a photo of clearance up front, and then my adjustable rear setup. you'll notice there was a flare taped on, found out I didn't really need them.

10-4 on the flares. Wasn't sure how prickish the cops are where you are. I know of guys near me getting pulled over (mostly trucks) and the cop having actually measured the amount of exposed tire

These are the wheels/flares I just put on my car.
rims are 15x8
Front tires are 225/50r15
Rear tires are 265/50r15
I got the rims and wheels off of eBay. About $1000 for everything shipped.

GSL-SE Rims

I know this has probably been beated to a pulp but I just want to know if these rims will fit my stock SE without any adjustments at all. Bone Stock to these...:

I also don't want them to stick out too much.

The specs are 15x7 20 offset.

Thanks
