Assuming we're talking fronts, and his narrower tire option, 225 vs. your 265 brings the edge of the tread in by about 20mm. But +13 offset vs. +38 offset pushes it back out by 25mm. Net 5mm closer to the fender lip.
Yeah, there will be a couple mm difference at the tread block. More difference in how manufacturers size tires though- so should fit in the leeway.
I would have modeled 275/35-18 to make it exactly the same, but then people will get the idea you can run this too tall tire up front on the FD (enough people have problems thinking they can).
I checked 225/40-18 on 18x9.5 +13 first against the 295/30-18 on 18x11 +45 that I actually run and saw the tire tread block is actually in from the fender compared to that.

I do wonder what leads some to fixate on "low offset" over all else and end up with something stupid (IMO) like 225 on 9.5" +13, when you can put the outside sidewall of the tire and the outer wheel lip in exactly the same place with much wider tires with more offset.
I'm still not a fan of running that much "flushness". More trouble than it's worth for me and I don't care for the look anyway. But for those that do want that, you don't have to run narrow tires if you run more sensible offsets!

I know i could've gone much wider however i found a set of wheels i really liked and decided they will be going on the car, maybe if i lived on the mainland and had a track my build would be going in a different direction, but in Hawaii we are plagued with a state that hates motorsports. I know its not everyones cup of tea and to each their own. however setting personal opinions aside then, i am gathering you guys don't think the 235 will fit and i would have to stay with the 225s on the front based on the calculations provided.

Liking the wheels is one thing. But do you like the look of the car with the outer wheel lip sticking out beyond the bodywork?
Understand that you won't be able to run as low on +13 as you would if you were on a more reasonable offset for 225s, like ~ +25.

IMO, neither size fits on +13 offset. 225 would definitely be less problematic. 235/40-18 which is both wider and taller than a 225/40-18, would force you to run at least 1/2" higher up for the same clearance (or the same interference).
235/35-18 would work a lot better than 235/40-18, but there's only one (1) tire in that size at Tire Rack.
Be aware that 225/40-18 is a slight stretch on 9.5", max recommended wheel width = 9" for that tire size. Of course people have stretched tires a lot more than that, though...
Another thing to consider is scrub radius. You'll have +27mm more of it vs. stock. That's a lot, and it will affect how the car feels on the road. Steering wheel will be yanked around a lot more over road irregularities.
IMO +13 is not a good offset for a stock-fendered FD, even with 225 tires. But if you like the poked-wheel look and don't mind the potential of having to deal with possible clearance issues, do what thou wilt...
Square setup, Work Emotion D9R 18x9.5 offset +38 wrapped in Hankooks 255-35-18. No rub at all.
Stock fender, no roll or pull! Car is in HKS Hipermax IV GT Coilovers with HKS preset settings.
Your tires may be skinnier, or your ride height may be higher, or you may not have hit a big bump yet.
YMMV, but I wouldn't want anyone reading to think that's a non-problematic "stock" fitment.
I was sure before buying this set of rims that I need to at least roll my fenders in the front from what I have read. But for my surprise I'm not rubbing at all, I have drive the car hard enough I lose traction in some corners and no rub but still haven't hit a big bump or a pothole. Maybe it could be the combination of the skinnier 35 profile and my ride height which is a bit high.
Mind measuring the height to the top of your wheel arch? The roads where I'm at are not always awesome, and I would probably ride higher than most. Interested if that's what's allowing you to run a that fitment without issues.
If I remember correctly in the HKS Coilovers instructions it says that its 25 inches, when I get the time I will go and measure it since my Fd is not my daily and I have it store in another garage not in my house.

18x10.5s and 285s all around. Should be a credit card gap between rear tire and fender and a bit more in front due to camber and fender shape. It's a work in progress of course, hoping to drive it this year

Roll front and rear. On the front, the wheel liner needed to be tucked above the two upper mounts as the holes no longer lined up for them to be bolted in. Holds quite well like that though - it's a very rigid piece.
Front wheels do stick out a bit past the guards. Rears are well within them.
When I first put them on, the front would very slightly rub against the liner (just behind the oil cooler) at full lock only, but it's obviously pushed it back and is no longer a problem. No rubbing during street driving, track driving or hitting speed bumps.
Going to try to fit 285s AD08Rs on them next (wanted 285s to start with, but unfortunately the Federals don't come in that size). Rear should be easy. Front may be a challenge. The lower profile of 285/30s may actually make help it work.
(In the last two images, the fronts are actually on very old 265/35 RE11s that the wheels came with. The 595RSRR are slightly wider).

The black with red accents looks good on your car. Running stock trailing arms? Any clearance issues?
I am running stock trailing arms with poly bushings. the wheels barely hit the trailing arms. I also got 5mm spacers and I have no clearance issues so far.
