Im changing the color of my FD3s but I have no idea what color i want :/ any suggestions ?

You could do a body kit while you are doing the color change as well to open up some more visual options.

 

 

Maybe I'm boring, but I always think they look best in stock Mica Yellow or Montego Blue. Or possibly that dark metallic silver, I think it was only on the Spirit R's.

 

I think they look best in whatever the original color was. Very few spend the money and/or time to properly change colors and they end up looking like crap.

 

Some of those body kits are hideous. I used Planet Color red hot chili pepper but they don't make it any longer. It's a brighter red than Vintage Red. Blends nicely in the door jambs and surrounding door frames. Mazda also makes a lot of cool colors. Like Jim said, "Very few spend the money and/or time to properly change colors and they end up looking like crap." So true.

 

 

1. How is this a technical question?
2. What is wrong with the stock color? Clearly you don't have something better in mind, otherwise you wouldn't be asking.

This one is awesome. Never have I seen such a high-quality application of fluid dynamics ignorance. I may bring this one into work to inspire our engineers, lol.

 

If you get a Trump wig and stick it out of the sunroof it will provide 30% more Downforce..
Fluid Dynamics is how long you can wait when your Bladder is full and your on the Freeway..

Pic one of the stock colors and be happy with it. If you just want to spend the money, spend it on a quality paint shop that will deliver good attention to detail with the job.

If you drop a car off at a body shop and say "Do a complete colour change to colour X" you'll end up with a bill of between $6,000 and $10,000.

For that kind of cost, you probably want to tell us what sorts of colours you like...

 

after seeing the gold 22s on the fd I was actually interested in this "rust rod" look. You can probably find one at a junkyard with this custom work already done

 

I would get it black. With the popularity of vinyl wrap right now, black would be a good base color to wrap over, and you wouldn't have to wrap the door jams and such for it to look right.

Then with the vinyl wrap you could change it's color whenever you wish.

 

White is right.

 

Peal white or coffee brown...

 

Black, Pearl White or Montego Blue are solid choices

I have a friend with a factory mazdaspeed 92 fd in montego blue with 8000kms on the clock! The paint is sooo clear its amazing. Think its been flowcoated (if thats the right term)
