hello everybody i am very new to rotories and i am goin to pick up my new fd rx7 tomorrow. It has intake, intercooler, exhaust, and i bought a power fc for it. I was just wondering what should i buy next to get the most whp out of my stock twins? I also wanted to know if my stock clutch will hold this power? thanks
First things first. Make sure all the reliability mods are in place....mostly involving cooling. Since the car is new to you, change all the fluids...oil, transmission and differential, coolant and brakes for a base-line. Put a new set of plugs and fuel filter in too. Download the FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL and read it.
Put at least as much effort into learning about the car as increasing power. Alot of good info in the stickys of the 3rd Gen. section. If you don't it will break and you'll be on here asking alot questions and spending alot of money unnecessarily.
Then go to the PFC sub-section of this forum and look for the sticky'd thread by DaleClark on installing the PFC. Once that is in, you can dial up boost. On stock twins (IMO) about 13 to 14 psi with a properly tuned PFC and boost control in place. If the twins are healthy and you're careful on maintenance, they'll last a few years. A guess is close to 350 whp. A stock clutch in good condition will hold it for a while. But upgrading it would be recommended.

For anything more than stock boost a programmable stand-alone or a re-flashed ECU is required. Above about 13...maybe 14 psi, fuel mods (injectors and pump) will also be needed. That's why I mentioned it above. Also, the stock twins start running out of breath and can produce alot of heat above ~14 or 15 psi. Their life-span is shortened as well.
maybe you can help me..
