Will this be soon? I am ordering yet another batch from the manufacturer today, with two of them already sold. I would like to order enough so that we can keep them in stock for more than a week.

Blake, how long are the leads that go from the header to the gauge, or did I just miss that in your thread.

Thanks, Paul

I believe they are 7 foot lead wires, plus the thermocouples add about a foot themselves. 12 and 14 foot lead wires are also available, or you can simply use 2-conductor 18 gauge wire to extend to any practical length.

Sorry. When they made me a moderator of this sub-forum, they seemed to have disabled my PM privileges by mistake. Not only can't I recieve them, but I can't send them either. Email me at <sales@pineappleracing.com>.

I meant, "moderator of my vendor sub-forum"; not this one. I just posted the message but it won't let me edit it...something odd is going on.

Just a reminder. If you are participating in the Group Buy and opt to use our online shopping cart, be sure to notify me FIRST either by email or by posting in this thread, so I know you are to get the GB pricing. Those not officially in the GB are paying $249 for the Dual EGT kit; not $225. We have been getting a lot of orders through the web site recently and want to make sure these are "regular" sales and not GB sales.

Also, we are flying down to Sevenstock and then the SEMA Show, so we will basically be out of the shop for a week, starting tomorrow (Friday, 10/27). You can go ahead and place orders and we will fill them when we get back.

If I get the chance tomorrow, I will call Hewitt and see if they have the metric templates available...if so, it won't be a big deal.

Question for the non-turbo'd setup. The thermocoupler adapters... will strapping them to the header give us an accurate readout as it would to drill/tap so the actual sending unit is in the airstream? Or i may just not completely understand it all. We have an n/a 87 SCCA car and need to monitor this.

Also, do you sell widebands as well? need to get both the egt and wideband installed.

Thanks!

Kyle

Would these effectively work with a FD stock manifold - i.e. no runners?
What would be the recommended location?
Could someone who has installed them already please post a pic?
Thanks,
Sandro

The critical thing is that the probes are centered in the exhaust flow, at the same depth and distance from the port faces. It is best to install them with the manifold off the car and you should be able to tell exactly where they go, but before you drill and tap, verify the clearance to obsticles in the vicinity. Of the cars in the shop now, we don't have one with a stock manifold, so I can't snap pictures that would be helpful. At the first opportunity, I will, however.

Thank you Blake. Clearances are tight with the stock manifold and that's why I asked.

The GB continues. We are sold out again, but more inventory is on the way. Again, the regular price is $250 plus shipping. The GB price is $225 plus shipping. Shipping is $8.10 anywhere in the US via Priority Mail. Your total shipped is $233.10. Overseas shipping available at cost. Contact me for a quote. Payments can be made with Paypal to <sales@pineappleracing.com> or you can call us with a credit card number at (503) 233-3878. You may also place an order on our web site but be sure to contact me FIRST to let me know you are in on the GB.

If anyone is interested in metric scale gauges, I will start a list. Hewitt Industries is willing to do this for us if there is enough interest.

Count me in, Greg from Fairmont. I'll just call my order in later today.

I'm wondering about where to drill my tubular manifold though (FC). Wouldn't condensation collect on the top of the probe if inserted from the bottom?

It's not a serious concern for EGT probes. The probes are sealed and resistant to corrosion. At worst, it could make removing the probes harder if the threads corrode a little, but that is hypothetical. This issue relates more to oxygen sensors than EGT.

No progress on getting metric ones...I have been tied up getting a new e-commerce package ready to deploy.

The GB is still on, so if you want to place an order you still can. I just sold out again, yesterday, but more are on order. If someone is not too picky, I do have a mis-printed one. It has the right scale (2000F) but is marked L & R instead of F & R.
