Gotham Racing screwed up and won't return my calls

I'm sorry to have to report this because they are obviously a reputable shop, but I feel like I have no choice. I ordered a Power FC Commander holder from Gotham on Sunday February 3rd. I received a package from them on I believe Thursday the 7th. So far, so good. I put the package aside and opened it the next day (Friday the 8th).

It wasn't my Commander holder though -- it was a power steering elimination kit invoiced to another customer!

Fine, I thought. I've done shipping before at my job. People make mistakes. I called Gotham at 5pm Central time. Their hours are 10 to 6 Central time, so they should be open. Nobody answered, so I figured maybe they had left early because it's Friday. No big deal. I left a message for I believe Alex, explaining the problem and giving him my phone number. I told him to call me back on Monday the 11th, and that if I don't hear from him I'll call Tuesday the 12th.

Well I never heard from him. Then my dad went to the hospital and I was busy with that until yesterday the 14th. I called the shop again and left a message for George I believe, explaining that I was very frustrated about the situation, and I don't want to be a difficult customer, but I just want my part. Then I emailed info@GothamRacing.com (Brock according to the website) and explained the situation. So I have contacted 3 different people now. It is now midday on the 15th, a week after I called them initially, and nobody has called me back. Nobody answers the phone. Nobody responds to my email.

How the heck do you run a shop without answering the phone? This is rediculous. Last time I ordered from them (a turbo blanket) it took over two weeks to arrive. But at least they answered their phone back then (summer 07) and assured me that the part had been shipped.

I just want to speak to a human being. Then I want an apology. Then I want my part without having to spend more money. And if they want to keep my business, I want all this ASAP because there is no excuse for blowing me off like this. I have contacted too many people for this to be an innocent mistake. I am willing to ship this power steering elimination kit to its intended recipient if they credit me for the $16 shipping I paid to get that thin piece of metal to mount my Commander.

I really want to get this resolved soon. Again, I hate to bring this to the forums but they have screwed up to the detriment of two customers--myself and the guy who actually ordered that power steering elimination kit.

I called again and I finally talked to Alex today. He said they have been shorthanded lately and that's why it's been so hard to get in contact with them, but they received my email and voicemail. They are going to overnight me a PFC holder and told me just to keep the power steering elimination kit because it's not worth the cost and trouble of sending it back.

So I guess I'm satisfied, provided that this part arrives as promised.

I bought one several months ago. After about a week I hadnt received it, so I started emailing them. I told them I was still waiting without my part, and that it would be nice if they could overnight it or something to make up for the delay.

Several days later they responded and said it was being shipped out. IT arrived a few days later via UPS ground. IT was stuffed into a UPS express box, the ones that are about 2.5" thick. IT got kinda bent up in shipping, due to being in the wrong size box. I wound up just being pissed and bending it back into shape, and calling it a day.

I have purchased a couple small things from Gotham and never once had a problem. I'm not doubting your claims at all but just saying that I can sympathize with both sides. Gotham is a good shop and Steve/Alex are both great guys, not out to purposely steal money or blow off their customers.
