My car had the diffuser, shop did an excellent job installing.

I could actually feel a difference with this on my car at high speeds.

Have a body shop do the work, its worth it. Also have your shop talk to rotaryextreme as they can tell you step by step how to install the diffuser.

This thing looks beautiful in person, pictures dont do much justice, especially since I had a white FD with a black carbon fiber diffuser, the contrast was al ittle much for the camera so I had to brighten some of the pictures in that area.

Dont do it like Rx7 Finatic's, you wantn the diffuser to be flush with the car, you dont want any spacing.

Rivets were used for mounting my diffuser, then sanded down so you cant even see them.

pm'd you, ill try to make it to pep boys to take a pic of what i used...

for everyone else its a generic license plate mounting kit

contains:
4 square rivet things that have holes down the center to screw into
4 screws

i had to cut one of the screws because it hit the sheet metal on the inside of the fender (driver's side rear most hole)

other than that it works like a charm, ive driven 90 on the freeway with no indication of it even thinkin about comin loose, and ive yanked it pretty hard. honestly the fiberglass will break before these clips give way, and its pretty good quality fiberglass)

PS: only downside to the clips that i used is that there is a 1/4" gap between the fender and the diffuser mount, caused by the thickness of the clip, nothing you can even notice from the pictures unless you look really hard, and i dont think it looks bad.

considering i was given only 9 bolts to work with and i did it myself...i think i did alright, but if anyone's got a body shop hookup or knows a better way, chime in!!! i'm up for flush, i just need to know how.

this isnt a thread about how to do it, its a thread about how I did it. This is open for suggestions, questions, and most definately better ways of installing it as i will probably change the way i mounted it if someone comes up with a better solution.

I went thru a lot of trouble doing it myself just for the learning experience, so dont trash on me for what i did

haha you edited right as i hit quote button, do you have the specifications of the rivets used. This would have been the ideal solution for me but didnt know where to get them or what size/length to use.

thx,
Brian

PSS: i plan on cutting the bolts so they arent so noticeable and painting them black, but i am sick, i was sick when installed it and its been on forrr....a couple days now? kkthx suggestions please

I think you did everything right except you should've pop riveted the ends to the bumper .

Also.....the bottom of the bolt you used to tighten the ends pieces to the diffuser should be facing the bottom of the bumper, not the floor . Good job though and thanks for posting up pics.

If anyone wants my spot on the group buy, they can take it. My driveway sits a bit high and I think I'll mess this up if I get it.

Anyone want to sell me their stock diffuser? Mine is melted and I am hoping to find a clean one. Let me know if you are willing to sell yours and what you want for it.

Thanks,

Jim

I didn't know it was necessary to remove that black piece of the rear bumper to make the diffusor fit... I mean it kind of looks empty there now... you can see the damn gas tank...

he he he, i am truly pathectic, i have 4013 FC pictures, a few are duplicates, but only a few, and i have 5998 pics in my "Mazada" folder..... total car pictures i have 12,132 pictures of cars and they are all orgonized into each brand then, car, and if anything speical bout a paticular car (the "Hennessey Viper" for instance) has its own folder, so all i have to do is, find car make model and wa-laa done......

really sad part is, i dont have a RX yet, thats why i have the time to waste finding all these pics.......
