Is 425/Deposit including shipping?

aGoGo 09-12-06 08:28 AM

What material?

aGoGo 09-12-06 08:48 AM

Got it, is the GB still available?

shineautoproject 09-12-06 03:30 PM

not including shipping. Yes group buy is still available. Once we come out with the hood, group buy will be closed.

RyoFC3S 09-16-06 03:46 PM

Ken, I didn't look when I stopped by, but will you guys be keeping the holes for the washer fluid sprayers on this hood? It looks like the one you got from japan has them.

rx7 punk 09-16-06 04:07 PM

So will the hood by avail. for sale after the GB is closed?

Apathy 09-16-06 04:25 PM

Oh shit... Its only a $200 deposit...

FC3S_nataku 09-16-06 04:46 PM

^get it apathy its bad ass. on another note, have i ever hung out with you in jacksonville?

Apathy 09-16-06 05:12 PM

Possibly... I hung out with the rx7 club up there like 1 or 2 times... After that everyone went ghost... I think Rich was the president of the club... When I was there about a year and a half ago I was in the pharmacy program at UF of Shands Hospital. I got offered a really good job so I came back home to begin my new "career" while I am still in pharmacy school pursuing a better career. When I was up there I had a primered GXL (that used to be pink.) Since moving from there I did a 13BRE swap on the GXL and sold the car to someone from this forum. Now I have an 88 Base model (just got it for $400 bux becuase the mofo flooded it and thought the engine was gone...?) and an 88 Vert.

aGoGo 09-17-06 05:59 PM

Still accepting the $200 deposit for the $425 deal? Let me know, Thanks

shineautoproject 09-18-06 04:21 PM

Alright guys........we have a dilemma and we would like some feedback on this.... There's a reason why we've been working on JUST prepping this hood for a LONG time. Simply because it needed ALOT of work and still does. It was wavy as hell..........

Now we've done prepping it up and test fitted it again today and its not looking too good. Here are pictures. Keep in mind this is the still the actual part, not OUR part.

cool_as_crap 09-18-06 04:27 PM

ouch :(
any way to fix the gaps/uneven-ness?

shineautoproject 09-18-06 04:28 PM

Looked as wavy as this one if not more....

http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/391...scf0001cc6.jpg

I personally dont like the way the hood turned out and it upsets me that we spent so many countless hours on it. Not to mention all the inquiries and questionares I had to answer regarding it's status. Now you guys know why it's taking so long. We're don't slack around, but this hood is almost impossible to make perfect.

I think we might need to work with a stock NA hood...........anyone have one they're willing to donate?

It's too hard to fix. It would be easier to start off with an oem hood and work from there, but that means we have to start the project all over again.

Ken

cool_as_crap 09-18-06 04:38 PM

ah. i'd love to help, but i just gave away my spare hood. i'd be more than willing to stop by and use my car (w/hood) for the day, but im afraid i cant leave the hood.

EJayCe996 09-18-06 04:41 PM

I have a local buddy who has plenty of N/A hoods, he parts out FCs and restores most FDs if possible. I could get one for roughly 20-40 bucks, don't know how much he'd charge you though.

HOZZMANRX7 09-18-06 04:53 PM

Stock NA hood

Sent you a PM regarding a stock hood, aluminum one in this case.

Let me know. I'm not far from you, located in Chino Hills.

jus103 09-18-06 05:39 PM

Spoke to Ken, I will be dropping off a steel hood, on wednesday.

fc3s91 09-18-06 07:21 PM

Ken could this miss alignment be from the car itself ? Being that the car was taken apart and put back together ? Also how long if you have to start the project over ?
Thanks Robert

shineautoproject 09-18-06 07:57 PM

could be but i doubt it............ if we can have a good hood within a week. Then the mold will be ready in a couple of days after that.

vipers 09-19-06 01:49 AM

i think thats your best bet... use a stock hood and graft the scoop on... then it will fit seamlessly......

see, all that stink from that one guy "why copy jdm parts"... you dont copy, you make all of them better! sexy hoods=crap... shines sexy style hood=perfection! thanx for doing all this hard work to deliver us a great hood!

RyoFC3S 09-19-06 02:25 AM

We understand the delays and trust you and the company you represent. Im sorry it seems so many hours have been wasted, but soon enough you'll have the other half of all of our deposits. :)

Looking forward to the finished product. I think we're all happy that you guys showed us this problem instead of just shrugging it off and selling us an 'unfinished' product and calling it good.

:icon_tup:
lol
anywho yeah, thanks for telling us about the mis-alignment. i'd rather have a shines sexy style perfect hood than a jdm fucked up wish it was sexy hood.
plus, this will just give me time to save a few more bucks for the paint

Bigretardhead 09-19-06 07:11 PM

will shine be selling the original once this is done? I'd be interested, as I don't mind the wavyness/bad fitment so much for my track car, and am too broke to afford a nice one which I would love to have... :(

shineautoproject 09-19-06 07:50 PM

yeah but the original one will have a hole in it :)

Bigretardhead 09-20-06 01:01 AM

oh.... lol. yeah, I guess it would, huh? .

can I have it for free then? :)

Trots*88TII-AE* 09-20-06 01:35 PM

Ken, i think i speak for everyone when i say thank you for taking the time and actually communicating with us, we all appreciate the hardwork going into our hoods, and if time is the concern, i'm sure that everyone agrees with me, that an extra week or two is not much in the long run considering we will be getting a better quality hood. Keep up the good work guys!

NB8CT 09-22-06 10:28 AM

i dont mind the fitment

just get it out ;)

Word!

Hellkat 09-24-06 02:52 AM

I say take ur time, im not in too much of a rush and rather have a hood you feel is worth selling. Im glad there is a company that cares so much about the quality of their items and the approval of their customers.

shineautoproject 09-25-06 04:37 PM

i will post pics up today of the progress.......... looking real good.

After we're done with this, we might have to call it the SSD Hood. Shine's Signature Design :)

Trots*88TII-AE* 09-26-06 01:26 PM

Looks great Ken, keep up the good work! Thanks for the updates

shineautoproject 09-26-06 01:48 PM

Kingsfan 09-26-06 02:06 PM

vipers 09-26-06 09:53 PM

I'll have a stock TII hood very soon (once this hood gets put on) if you need it. :)

Looks great. Im excited to see the final product.

vipers 09-27-06 12:32 AM

RyoFC3S 09-27-06 03:50 AM

It is white. Got a couple tiny dings, but I think they'd be really easy to get out (ill probably fix that soon).

Dorifto_PG 09-27-06 03:32 PM

I have a silver TII hood. Perfect perfect, of course it not white though. Just in case other plans fall through.

Trots*88TII-AE* 09-28-06 10:54 PM

just curious there ken, did you guys cut out the vents from the sexy style hood and graft them onto that stock hood, or did you re-create the vents altogether??? And, since you're doing this custom, is there any chance of getting any other vents added to it, like near the rear on both sides of the hood??

db! 09-29-06 02:33 PM

pretty sure he cut it out, he said the original now has a big hole haha

Trots*88TII-AE* 09-29-06 08:54 PM

heh, yea, GIMME THE HOOD W/ THE HOLE!

Hellkat 10-03-06 10:35 PM

Is the hood going to be made from the heavy steel N/A hoods? I hope not :/. If so id rather have the wavy fiberglass one

vipers 10-03-06 11:19 PM

lol... no, they just used a stock hood for the mold since it was in way better shape than the sexy hood

db! 10-04-06 02:56 AM

are there going to be CF ones available?

dest101auk 10-04-06 04:09 AM

I hope someone can make an Amemiya replica FC hood oneday... not the one on the REsuperG TA car but the older style

shineautoproject 10-04-06 12:30 PM

first hood should be done today
