Can we (I) get a definitive list of what is still made by shine auto. It seems the stuff I want is discontinued, but I'm not sure.

A lot of people seem to think that the vert and coupe tail lights are not interchangable... when in fact, they ARE! I saw a pic of a coupe with the narrower S5 tails, and the vert center piece between em. The hole for the key was covered by a infini badge, but I would shave that, and paint the piece body color. I lost the pic of it, but I think it was in the second gen picture thread...

I just think that the car would look better like that, and I bet SOME modification is needed, but honestly, how hard can it be, right?

I second this! There are too many "request" and "interest" threads out there, its confusing. What exactly do you currently make for the FC?
Thanks,

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. They do have an Ebay store, and their website should be up in a few weeks. I think that's the whole point of their BBQ on the 18th.

ok....yeah, headlights, bumpers, sideskirts, diffusers....those are all great. But why is it that in all the years that the 2nd gen rx7 has been around, no one has designed aftermarket TAILLIGHTS. They are easily the most distinguishable difference b/t s4 and s5 and one of the most talked about parts of the car. I'm not talking about tinting them or replacing stock bulbs with LEDs. I want new taillights. perhaps something like what Altezza makes (only a bit less ricey) come on fabricators everything else has been done to death (accept the hardtop for the vert....) Give us new tails!!

Most company's would view that as a waste of money. There wouldn't be a high enough demand for the money they would have to spend on r&d.

dude, The same could be said of ANY aftermarket venture. Thats just cowardice! The situation is, I have been able to find literally anything else I could want for the car....rear diffuser, CF doors and trunk (for a VERT!!), even custom fit replacement seats, so don't give me that crap about too little demand....show of hands how many people here besides me have all 3 products I've listed above?. The fact remains, There are PLENTY of 2nd gen owners, tens of thousands, that would want new (quality, good looking) tails (if you build it, they will ***). If you're just too afraid and you realize your product will just be an inferior piece of crap, fine just say so and let someone who is up to it take on the task; but don't try to spoon feed me that garbage about money spent on R&D vs profit. I've been in this game WAAAY too long to be fooled by that old line of BS. Truth of the matter is The original engineering and R&D is already done. Mazda has already taken care of the expensive part of the process, so now we just need one of you fabricators to take a few hours in photoshop and come up with a better looking version of what has already been built.

I wonder if Dltreezan is up to the task once he gets on his feet?....

.. hmm, too little demand is a problem even for most parts that are currently in production. I'd also like to see who'd want to replace there lights.. I've hardly seen anyone ever talk about wanting to changed them cuz they're so clean... sorry, but I think I think red_s5_fcs3 is right on that one. but hey, to each his own right??

you seem to have the know how and ambition to design some up yourself i believe ericseven (not sure if that's exactly how his screen-name is spelled) has a way of customizing S5 tails that looks really good in my opinion. (sorry if he's not still making those currently) but i'm sure someone has some pics that they might be willing to post up. just to give you some ideas in case you wanted to fab some up instead of calling other companies out because they choose to provide their services where they like, and where the large majority likes. not to say different tails wouldnt be cool, new looks always have the potential to add a lot to a car. projects like this normally are better left for custom fab, that way it would be more personallized and most likely better enjoyed.

That's the whole reason why companies like Shine require an intrest list and a deposit before they even begin making anything. I would seriously be interested in some LED tail lights, but I know it's not going to happen. I would also like some Feed Style projector headlights, but companies aren't making them. Instead, we've got forum members making and selling these kits.

As far as ericseven goes, he is still doing the tail light mods and they look really good!

because the S5 oem tails are perfect, even people with other cars (hondas, toyotas etc) love the S5 style and are jealous we get them to fit as an oem part and even though they are pricey they are worth it, they modernize the FC style a lot.

yup.

Personally, I like the s4 tails in the light, the s5 only looks good at night, maybe if you mask off the area that doesn't light up and paint it the body color that would be awesome-looking, but what about those clear lens-tails that honda has where the red is a small circle inside a clear lens- yeah, something like that would be bad-*** if it had the same light positions as the S5 lights, that would probably be worth fabricating, and you could really just make a mold of the s5 and cast it in clear plastic instead of translucent, you know, some small red and orange circles with a rim of chrome or something embedded into the back of the clear lens. how about that? I'm sure those would get eaten up!

Ken, thanks again for the great products! The only reason why my car has been in the shop for so long is because of the other companies products. Your stuff fits perfect!
