Sevenstock XI

Now that the dust has settled on Sevenstock X we're looking ahead to 2008. There are several options under consideration for the next event. We, the organizers would like to get some feedback. Vote and tell us what you think. Thank you

He's an idea, holding Sevenstock XI at Laguna Seca! How cool would that be!!

Mazda owned track, Mazda's on the track, Time Trials on Friday and Saturday, Seven Stock, Miata Cup, etc. races on Sunday with all Mazda enthusiasts watching. Auto-X in the main paddock on Friday, show in shine in the lower paddock.

Coastal drives like 17 Mile Drive, Big Sur Coastal Hwy1, maybe even an inland drive through Hecker Pass Rd 152 or Carmel Valley Rd.

Camping for the broke *** people (Me), RVers, The Hilton on Monterey Salinas Hwy or High-end Hotels in Monterey.

Monterey Airport for those who are flying in, five miles from the track, five miles to the hotel.

Maybe even a driver’s school for those who are looking to learn or improve their driving skills.

Not having to deal with L.A. traffic, not having to deal L.A.

Maybe even a parade lap of new up coming prototypes; 16X powered prototype?

And I will have my RX-7 completely done by then; Track day at Laguna Seca, Hell Yeah!

All great suggestions and ideas, but unfeasible for SevenStock. Main challenges:

- loss of attendance by the OLD SCHOOL RXs (huge part of SevenStock)

- Cool Mazda properties would be very minimal (transportation, insurance and budget)

- Available weekend race days (loud) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca almost impossible to aquire

- Insurance requirements very high

- Organizers and volunteers all in So-Cal.

We love this idea, but after many years of investigating it, it's just not in the cards for SS.

Here`s my suggestions
1. Dyno runs
2. Classes that cover actual hands on 13B complete down and assembly
3. More vendors ( HKS,Blitz,AEM,Motec,FEED,Shine, Defi,etc)
4. ECU tuning sessions for popular ECU`s

No matter where this next event is i have made a agreement to myself to be there. Even if its on the otherside of the US i will be there! But seriouly leguna sounds sick, wish that could happen. Deffently # 1,3 and 4 of what cjack37 said though. One of my friends went to the recent waterfest(vw), they had a auto-x track that they let people test ride the new vw rabbit and ect. They should have a new rx-8 and miata they should let people test drive. If something like this happends i would like the credit for it. lol

Zoomzoom live

How about asking Mazda to hold another one of their Zoom Zoom live events around there so you can drive and look at the Sevens.

Deciding a date as far in advance as humanly possible so everyone knows the date and can plan a year in advance.

Sevenstock XI

Thanks for the comments and suggestions BUT let me clarify. The poll is for DAY 2 of Sevenstock. Your selection will go a long way in helping us decide which of the 4 options best suits Sevenstock. Now get out there and vote

Autocross
Drag
Mobile dyno

In that order. If there's an auto-x I'd be on that course as much as possible!

How expensive is Cal Speedway to rent out? It's certainly big enough.

The old El Toro base?

LC, Bern:

Thanks again for everything that you and the SoCal crew do to make this happen. Major Kudos! I participated in ZoomZoom live last year and thought it was a lot of fun. Especially liked driving the RX-8 on the autocross course. Maybe something similar again next year with 2 or 3 RX-8s instead of just one. The Miata was also pretty fun, but the Mspeed6, CX-7 and other products weren't quite as fun to drive for those of us focused on rotary content (JMO). Also would prefer an Oct date if at all possible.

perhaps next year, whoever takes best of show for each category, they get a REALLY nice prize from Mazda to go along with their award.

Cool

Would it be possible to let the forum know when what days Sevenstock is going to be held next year? I really want to go next year so I can plan accordingly.

There's lots to consider but we're getting close to a date for 2008. Thanks
