Guys,
The preliminary info is that we are looking at a late OCT date again... either the 20th or 27th. Speak amongst yourselves and let us know your opinion and why? -Bern |
October made it easier for us coming from SinCity with the slightly cooler temps, just sayyin
|
October was good for nicer weather last year, the last minute rush to put it on lead to fewer cars witch was a disappointment to me as it was my first time at the new venue.so i hope there will be more old school there this year.By b-day is also in Oct. so it can be a present to myself.
|
Any chance of having it back at Mazda HQ? With all due respect to the Fairplex, the whole "start your engine and we shut the event down" rule seemed pretty disappointing to a lot of people.
Sevenstock 15- Return of the Brap. |
Late October worked for me; gave a little space between JCCS and SevenStock in which to have a real life for a couple weeks & maybe do some small projects.
|
27th is my birthday. you can have a 20b crate waiting for me to pick it up at the sign in booth, thanks.
|
Any closer to finalizing a date?
|
aww man why not early september?? i wont be able to make it in oct
|
Guys thanks for the input and ideas... as an update we are still looking for a venue and the late OCT dates are still leading the way. As for hosting it at Mazda, this is seeming very dificult at the moment, for various reasons.
-Bern |
20th Since it'll be my birthday and I'll be 21. :D

Do we know if SevenStock is happening? If so has a date been set yet? If not what about making it the last weekend of September, like the weekend of the 29th&30th. Weather is still nice, plenty of day light and it puts it right between sep/oct to hopefully accommodate more people. IMHO the closer you get to Halloween the harder it is for people to plan stuff because you have to take the kids out to trick or treat.
Anyhow just a suggestion as I've seen a lot of people debating to have the event in September or October. |

Do it at Antelope Valley Fair-grounds. Come check out the drifting event at the Annual Thunder on the lot Car Show to see how well it's organized. No problem Starting the cars, there's space indoor and out-door, and there's room for a drift event or Auto-X event. I think that's what Seven Stock has been missing. An actual track event for those wanting to hear some good stuff! Antelope valley fairgrounds is located in Lancaster Ca, straight shot for vegas guys, closer to Nor-cal guys, right off the freeway, Hotels not even 3 min away. No reason why you guys shouldn't at least consider it being out here. Close to Willow Springs International Raceway as well =-)

I agree Bern anywhere that will allow us to
1-fire up our cars and rev freely my car was in display and i went to move it 5 feet and got blasted because i turned it on . 2-Add a auto-x/drifting event just think about the revenue if you are going to participate on the event you must pre pay like speed ventures etc...... That way you can get the funds to provide emergency crew, insurance, and organizers. 3-and more FOOOD!!!! OPTIONS!!!!! Man i was pissed when the lady said $12 for a hotdog and medium soda. 4-if the fairplex will allow us to use their facility again maybe get it closer to the open parking lots .More parking and space I know 15 cars that got stuck in traffic and coulnt make it and got stuck outside. The only crappy side of it is cover but it will be in late october so its all good:icon_tup: 5-I am done ranting:nod: |
Yea oct sounds good plenty of time to get ready and also the weather will be alot cooler.
I also didn't agree with any of the rules that the fairplex had set. A rotary motor was meant to be rev I mean its an awesome sound why hide it right. But as a rotary enthusiast ill be happy that we just have a place for us to meet and share our knowledge. |

BMW has their event at the rosebowl. That'd be pretty cool if we could set up something like that as well :) lol. They set it up outside on the grass, free to move around your car and rev all you want with no problems. Also Pasadena is pretty close to the 210, 605, 5, 15, 2, and 10 freeways.

Soo ...any solid Dates??? Location??
|
I liked having SS14 in late October last year, the weather was pretty nice for Pomona. I think the 20th might be better since it would be less likely to interfere with Halloween parties. I thought the Fairplex Pomona location was pretty nice, there was more shade than at previous years and it was nice to have some of the cars inside the building.
I'd definitely be interested in participating in an autocross event. Although drifting is more entertaining to watch from a spectator's point of view, it seems there's a better chance of damaged cars. A ProSolo autocross race might be fun for both racers and spectators, two cars run on mirrored autocross courses with a drag-race style start. Jeff Kiesel's green rotary-powered racecar was at the Racing Beat booth last year, here it is running a ProSolo event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyemP...hannel&list=UL , the first part is waiting for the cars to stage and the action starts around 1:00. |
A prosolo event would be amazing! I love seeing show quality rx7's but i can really appreciate a no nonsense bare knuckle rotary fighter throwing down.
|
Great video...I wasn't able to attend last year's event since the date was kinda set at the last minute...(understandable). Hopefully this is the year I make it out to Cali for the first time.
|
Whatever the date is just give us notice as much as possible. :)

Time to start clay-barring... and hydrating, lol...
|
Looking forward to it. I haven't been to a Sevenstock in 3 years.
|
I've never been to one. Will make the next for sure! Coming from the bay area!

pics of Antelope Valley Fairgrounds.. and the drift event my buddy mickie put on. I helped them all set up.... there was about 6 times the space we used.. covered parking.. indoor parking.. you name it.. AV fair had it..
pics behind is the grand stands.. you can't see much but it's just a hell of a good place to put on a big event like this of any sorts. Theres WAYYY more room than we'd ever need.. and vendors/food/drinks/beer/etc.. Seems perfect to me.. I'll see if i can find the layout of the actual fairgrounds.. found it http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...airgrounds.jpg http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...d/IMAG0839.jpg http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...d/IMAG0834.jpg http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...d/IMAG0844.jpg http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...d/IMAG0843.jpg |

Just sayin'. Trying to run a car show in the middle of a desert strikes me as kinda suboptimal. That said, so long as we HAVE one, I'm stoked. |
..................... awaiting announcement so we can rally the troops
|
^ dude... What else do you want?....Free haltec standalone's with a ticket purchase? Pffft... AV fair is a great location.
|
^ where is it in relation to other locations?
