First, Thanks for all the hard work on getting this going. This is the only real vacation I take each year.
Second, Can locals chime in on things to do around the area? I'm use to Irvine so we'd just go to the Spectrum afterwards. Anything like that near the fairgrounds? Places to have a drunken dinner? |

Funny you should ask, but right there in the same FAIRPLEX grounds is the annual "Oktoberfest" event... and it just happens to start at 5pm that same night! Not that we planned it this way or anything!! :gwink:

German beer, Japanese cars... if we bring in some Italian pizza, we'll have the complete Axis of Entertainment!

Drive another ~5 mins North from downtown and you'll find big chain restaurants (Shogun, Chipotle, In N Out...) on Foothill Blvd (Route 66). I stopped by the Fairplex to see the LA County Fair this weekend, there is a LOT more space than the Mazda HQ parking lot. Parking was $10 (not sure if this was dictated by the LA Fair or the Fairplex site itself). If possible, it would be nice to use part of the grounds with trees or buildings nearby for shade.

ABOUT THE EVENT AND ORGANIZERS The Southern California RX Club is a group of rotary engine enthusiasts who put on the SevenStock event for rotorheads worldwide; for Enthusiasts by Enthusiasts. The Club is NOT a for-profit enterprise, and runs SevenStock on a break-even basis. Historically, club members cover the costs to put on SevenStock, and hope that t-shirt & raffle sales will cover the credit card bills. - No one that helps put on this or any other SoCal RX Club event gets profits; Directors, members or volunteers. - No we did not "break up" with Mazda. Unfortunately, this year we encountered some late scheduling conflicts. This Year’s First Time Entrance Fee: The SoCal RX Club has always worked very hard, along with a couple of key sponsors, to make SevenStock a free event. This year, without a donated facility to accommodate Sevenstock, we felt the show must go on. As a result, we need to cover the costs of renting this year’s world-class venue. As much as we'd prefer to keep SevenStock absolutely free, we've worked hard to keep costs as low as possible. By attending Sevenstock and aiding in our fundraising efforts, we can continue to have this annual Rotary-themed event. Without you, the rotary enthusiasts, Sevenstock wouldn’t be possible. We hope to see you at Sevenstock, and that you enjoy it as much as we enjoy putting together the World’s Largest Rotary- Enthusiast gathering. Long Live The Rotary! |
All...MOST....there.....
