That's all easy for you guys to say, you live in the area. That's quite a haul for the out of state people.

I'd have no problem driving the fc cross-country for an event if it were as big or bigger than 7stock.
But there aren't any, so I don't.

You don't even live on the East Coast. You could drive down here and back in 24 hours.

If I go, I game for this. Provided I get done with the car and have the money.

http://sykartracing.com/agriffith.aspx

Weight will be the deciding factor for all the guys at the top. No matter how good you are, weight will be the determining factor. A guy who weighs as much as my left nut will always be faster than me.

It's a good thing cool3865 is not going. I hear he weighs 90lbs sopping wet. The rest of the members are going to be crapping there pants mid race because they are on alli for weight reduction.

I'm planning on being there. I'm thinking of getting my 15 year old right now and going. I need to set another appointment before knocking off work.

Yeah, but basically I would have to leave right after work to get there in the middle of the night, then start driving back early Sunday morning to be back for work. That leaves Saturday to actually see 7 stock and participate in the karts. What day are you planning to do the kart racing?

PS: That's about a 2,000 mile trip for me even though I live on the west coast.

Actually I was just looking at that I was trying to decide if I was going to need a rental car or not... The closest airport is LAX right?

hell no! John Wayne/Orange County is the airport you need. Avoid LAX at all cost

You could land at John Wayne and walk to Mazda/Hotels/the Kart place

Which brings up another question. Is 7stock going to be at the big Mazda building like last year?

Or

The Research facility on Redhill?

Thanks, let me look up that one. The problem I foresee with the flying plan is that my wife will definitely want to go, which doubles my airfare

Edit: Looks like it's only $50 more to fly into that airport instead of LAX, but if my wifes coming, that's $500 in just airfare...

Isn't that an incentive to not get it done?

But seriously, I have neither the funds nor the time available off work.

OK, $500 for airfare, or 2000 miles round trip in your car. Let's guesstimate 20 mpg avg = 100 gallons at $3.25 (avg) per gallon equals $325.00 just for gas. Not to mention the 20 hours of "quality time" spent with the wiffy complaining about your droning exhaust and "oh, let's stop, I have to pee" comments.

OR... you can fly into John Wayne, have the DoubleTree shuttle pick you up and be in your air-conditioned room 3 hours after leaving OR. Hmmmm.... let's see.

We stayed at the DoubleTree Irvine Spectrum last year and they take you down to the Spectrum, which has basically more than 50 restaurants, bars, movie theaters, etc. You can drink until the cows come home, then call the shuttle and they come back to pick your sorry drunk *** up Seriously, it's a really nice (and convenient) service!!

He nailed it on the button. The Irvine Rectum is plenty fun and you can take the wife out to a nice dinner. That way you can go race some go carts, get drunk, get laid,go to sevestock, get laid, take the wife out for dinner, get laid. Sounds like a vacation to me.
