Most of us have been scattered over the 4 corners of the nation on vacatins. That plus the cost of gas has been a definite factor for our group. Things are slowing down and trying to get the group more active again.

Update:

The Ride:

We’re having a ride on Saturday, August 30th to the Tail of the Dragon and
other roads in the NC/TN area.

There will be two initial meeting locations - then the two groups will meet at
one for the ride to the Tail of the Dragon.

Location 1:
11:15a – 11:30a - Walmart at the Lenoir City exit off of I-75. The WalMart
is located about 1 mile off the exit on the left side of the road. The group
from NC, Chattanooga, and others will meet at this stop. This group will pull
out at 11:45a.
(Walmart: 911 Highway 321 N, Lenoir City, TN 37771)

Location 2:
11:45a - 12noon – Airport Hilton – Alcoa Hwy. This is our normal meeting
point. This group will pull out around 12noon.

The two groups will meet at the WalMart (aka the "new" Walmart) on 411S in
Maryville. Once all have arrived, the group will leave the Walmart at 12:30p.
(Walmart: 2410 US Highway 411 S, Maryville, TN)

We will leave the Walmart in the order of preference based on driving
skills/desires. (fast in front, crusiers in back).

The ride will take 411S to Hwy 129 (aka the road to the Tail of the Dragon).
Stops will be made at the Deals Gap Store, Fontana Dam and Robbinsville. Two
options for the route back - Cherahola Skyway to Tellico or back to Deals Gap on
Hwy 129 and back across the Tail of the Dragon.

PM Sunset350zr or Tennessee350zr for a phone number contact.
For details and maps go to www.SportsCarFrenzy.com

All makes, models - cars, trucks, bikes all welcome.

THanks Marcus, and im sure he'll bring it out once its ready to be driven, his seats showed up today and the dash got pulled so the carpet can go in, fenders and bumper off so the supports can be straightened as well as we can get em. Just sucks that I gotta work saturday, though it is supposed to rain...which sucks more.

We had a good time. We are going to try it again in September. We had two FC's show up. I knew exactly who they were before I saw either. Thanks guys for coming. Todays ride showed how powerwithout handles could make a car bow to faw weaker powered cars. How long do you think it will be before he talks of trading that GTO;}

See ya soon
Marcus

I might make the run in September if it's not on a Saturday. I figured today would be about the worst possible day to be up there traffic and cop-wise... how was it?

Really it wasn't bad at all. There was one @ss in a pick up truck that wouldn'y pull over but as always the NC side was dynamite. I only saw two cops and they were at the bottom by the lake in their usual spots. They got a few pics up with more to come I am sure.
