boost_its_what_for_dinner 02-28-09 12:48 PM

well ran into some issues but still got what i really needed done, just need that cas mod and beeter pump. i plan to pull the fuel lines from filter back and replace with bigger hard line and get a supra pump and bump up voltage to it to get it close to 300lph so shouldnt be a problem.

thanks to
steven for plugs
ray for a great insight on the tuning aspect of it all you really taught me and my friend alot by just watching you, pplus for getting the car straightened up for cruising. ill contact you soon about higher boost timing setting unless you think the timing will be fine for 15-16 psi pump gas?
staticx for hosting it and all the help from the employees it was nice to meet all you guys

the people that got tuned on friday are by far some of the coolest cats out there that ive met and i finally got to meet herblenny(phil).

thanks again to all and it was fun

steven when i figure out what i need to fix my cas ill pm you details i have to call Ari at rx7.com and see if he can get me that magnet and bracket set up to amp up signal.

I want thank everyone for coming to the event. Cant say enough about Ray.. He did a great job and I hope everyone keeps showing there thanks by supporting PFS!

Static X motorsports rolled the red carpet out for us. I have never been treated so well at a dyno shop. They gave us a great rate and even supplied pizza both days. They also ordered a Innovative LM set up as back up just for us, let us us the lifts, tools and such.

I will get the print outs asap for everyone.

Nice meeting you guys....

Dustinali 03-02-09 08:20 PM

I think it might be the 850cc injector that was leaking. Static x said when I get that fixed they will give me a couple of power pulls.

Thanks man. But there are some guys that make mine numbers seem tiny.. Seems 700rwhp is the big number now. I may turn the boost up a bit and see if 650 is there....

What you been up to?

boost_its_what_for_dinner 03-04-09 02:31 PM

hey ray isee you lurking in here... i talked to Ari and he said 2-4 weeks for that part to be made if everything goes good. he is talking about replacing the whole cas setup with a modded piece so it should be pretty sweet. car drives good around town going to try to figure out that tps spot today hopefully its not the sensor. also what was the part number for those msd amps you were talking about?

hus 03-04-09 04:32 PM

Still building on this Cobra. I'm headed up to DynoSpeed Racing within the next two weeks for a large Paxton Intercooler and some more dyno time to crank up my psi. Had my third son last week. The usual.

I was talking to a guy at work about your FD and he was curious about what it was like off the line. He seems to think that it would be very slow on take off and then killer on top end.

He said, "Isn't that thing really slow off the line then? I dont know about rotaries, but on a 4g63, that there turbo would only hit 24 psi at around 4800 rpm."

Brad

Wes,
Ray sent me a pm about the part # and its the MSD 8509 mag signal stabilizers.

Not quite sure. I think it peaked at 20 or 21 and tapered off to 17 or so. I'm waiting on the dyno sheets to see exactly.

Congrats on the child! Thats very cool! Kids rock!

Tell your friend that its true they wont hit full boost till 4800 but since I launch @ 7000rpm its all good... LOL... Car makes power from 4800- 8400. From my past logs its pretty much in boost the entire pass except for shifts. I have cut 1.6's 60 footers.

hus 03-04-09 07:19 PM

Nice.

Thanks, Phil said y'all were seeing what they would do. That's seq. right?? I coudn't get my twins to hold more than 17-18psi either, it'd always peak high right after transition then drop back off gradually as the rpms went up.

Yeah, it's sequential. I still need to play around with the transition points in the PFC. How do/did you have yours set?

SPICcnmGT 03-06-09 07:48 AM

Right now they are:

TPS Low High
60 2400 3760
40 2400 4320
20 2400 4720

I have the low so low because of AutoX and PDX's just so it stays in seq. mode and doesn't drop out while I'm in a corner. And the high is lower just because at full throttle high boost it normally transitions at like 4k+ and its a super kick in the butt so having it at 3760 makes it a smoother transition.

HDP 03-08-09 11:12 AM

Dustin, sent you a PM...

Tim Benton 03-08-09 01:05 PM

Great numbers guys. Its coming together nicely Don and I bet its fun to drive as well.

Tim

HDP 03-08-09 03:10 PM

Thanks Tim. Yeah, it's a fun ride but there are a couple issues I need to address before it's all good... a new clutch and an intercooler duct.

sk8world 03-08-09 11:10 PM

add sticky tires & balls to drive it hard!
