Timing split Q's

Im getting more into tuning on my own and I wanted to know what timing split you all are running and how long you've had your motor. Many tuners swear by their tuning, but what is the most safest combo...Also I understand every motor is different but, at least I can get an idea

I run 14-16 split on the street and 9-10 on c16. I would take your questions to the specific area... 3rd ge, 2nd gen, race car, drag race, single etc/.. You will find more info there. Also check nopistons.com You can view a few maps there and see their split run. Rule of thumb has always been no less then 10 to be safe. You really need a nice ecu to run less or close to zero split to be sure the trailing does not fire first!
