Don't J-spec cars lack US VINs? how could you even register it in the US without a stateside VIN. I would guess a very illegal vin plate swap from a wrecked A-spec 7 would be the only way.
I thought Auto Depot was the place that sold that guys Spirit R seats and claimed they never came with his Spirit R?
Dude, just do a right hand drive swap if you really want to be that cool. That fad has lost is hold in the car industry.
And where the hell is Flroida

Well it can be done as i seen numerous civics, skylines and silivias here in Flroida. I dont know of how it can be done tho. Can I ask that you please correct Florida in you avatar. We have a bad enough reputation down here as it is.

roughly around 4-6k for registration
then add the $150 for the registration to where ever in florida your registering the car! & $100 for the title.
unless your for the looks theres no reason to go and buy a rhd fd!

they basically take a wrecked rx7 and either take the vin off and put it on the Jap car. Or you can do it the painstaking and proper way and follow all the rules of the land to obtain a vin number ... if you arent extremely detail oriented then plan on spending 3000-4000 to get it done.
When I was looking at becoming a registered importer, I ran across approved vehicles for import ... one of which was RX7's (all 93+). So its not impossible.
Why exactly do you want a Jap RX7 instead of one hear ?

do your self a favor and save up enough money to buy a clean US one unless your dead set on an imported one.
Just remember 10k may buy you the car .. but you might need another 2g for reliabilitiy mods, regular maintenance, and you also have no ida at all how hard the car was beat on until you already bought it.

a little bit of info on bringing the car in
you can register the vehicle with the jap vin and insure it with gieco. registration can be done for less than 1500 bux and the car will be fully legal, recognized with jdm vin and insured legally no worries about getting stopped. people need to stop adding info on subjects they are not sure about it make it harder for some one asking a question to complete his goal.pm me for specifics, the only cars that are now almost impossible to register legally are skylines because everyone has tried doing it the shiesty way and it has brought attention to these cars more than any other as well as the whole motorex scandal. Supras hondas rx's and the like are easy because we had most of the models here AS WELL AS LEGAL. I STRESS LEGAL. anyone pm me if you need help to bring a car in, i deal with this on a weekly basis.
ok listen and here's the info u want...i own a 1992 skyline gtr.....bought it last year in july...i live in south florida....what you have to do is call the main office for the dmv...its in the tallahasse area...u have to make an appointment with one of there inspectors...your car haas to be towed up and back(since u wont have plates and u cant purchase a temp tag threw them)...it takes a whole 30 minutes when the inspector has your car.....you go in, you fill out 5 differnt papers...u wait 4ever...and then u wait sum more....finally, ur name is called, u meet with the inspector, u and him/her go to ur car, and he gos threw all the basic saftey checks....u start the car, honk your horn, press ur brake so he can see the lights, flip ur turn signals, flash ur headlights then ur highbeam bla bla bla.....we dont have emissions in florida so the hard part and that is th hardest test...but we dont take it!!! if u pass ur saftey test...u go back in the office, sign one more form and pay ur fee...i paid $800 and sumthing dollars...it depends on ur car....o yea bring the jap. titles as they need it then they process it and u have ur title in 3 weeks....the fee depends on the car and the weight and sum other shyt...towing is the pain in the ***....ur VIN NUMBER is the same number thats on the car...such as mine wwith the skyline....BNR32******** ur vin stays the same...just like all the import cars that are made in differnt countrys and shipped here to be sold lol thats all u have to do pm me if u need help
after u have ur american title congrates!!!!!
u r now the first owner of ur car in the U.S. now after ur title comes in the mail...go to ur local court house or tag agency and register ur car and obtain a licensen plate for ur car!!! after this last step....DRIVE UR cAR ITS URS NOW!!!! lol word of advice tho...if u want a 3rd gen rx7 look into getting one from the carribean...thats where 85% of the importers get there cars from dont beleave there liess....its cheaper to buy them and to ship them...right now im lookin into a 2002 mazda rx7 spirt r for $11k in jamaica shipping is $1k for a private shipping company to do it (the safest way) and im also looking at a 1996 rx7 in the bahamas for $6k....so look be4 u buy its alot of money to invest

he is absolutely correct. i just rather pm the info instead of posting it.but there you go. and the islands have tons of cars for cheap. you can also do the canada route.either one is absolutely legal.but if you want the canada way pm me the dot and epa are on these forums and they are watching.
A little Off-Topic, but I was cruising to Sonics on 95 North and ran across a RHD Spirit R. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was around the West Palm Area. It was a bald older guy. Just wondering if it was you or not? Sorry I didn't have my camera.
