i saw a burgandy S5 vert getting pulled over by a base cop at work today, must have been speeding on the fast stretch redbank rd lol

 

Tray you are more than wellcome to stay at my house the FD will be able to make it I just cant decide witch car I want to take more than likelly the FD becouse the SA has 155 tires on the front of it and I just dont think that would be enought to go to the mountains with. As for a ride you can ride with me becouse Lisa is going to have to work saturday and then once she gets off she will come back to the house and cook diner for everyone. Let me know what you decide to do.

 

thanx minda...allen has also offered to let me ride with him...u know, u could take the SA and i could drive the FD hahaha...u knew i was gonna say it! anyway, it looks like i'm coming solo on this one again...none of the other owners up here are able to make it (or they've nto called me back yet)

so yeah, i'll probably see you sometime friday evening...and we'll figure out who i'm riding with...i have a feeling which ever car i'm riding (or driving? ) will be the lead car...or allen will be up front

 

or another thought would be, u drive teh FD and i'll drive teh SA...my first chance to drive a first gen!!!

 

now i think he might go for letting you drive the SA.

 

well if you get here get evrything out of it and get the clutch bled the oil injection fixed becouse it keeps getting stuck on wide open and maybe on your way down here pick up my tires from union mills then yes i will let you drive the SA with no problems those are the small ods and ends that still need to be done to the car.

 

well, i guess i better drive the FD for the meet then and let you worry about the SA...or i'll just bounce from car to car during the drive...

 

and ye the battery doest clear the hood for some crazy reason or another I guess the SA profile is not as tall as the FB

 

u know, i hear v8s fit well under the hood of ANY rx7...SA, FB, FC, and FD

Le hwy 276 is uphill and its a strain on teh motorz and gas but the views are cool for those who haven't been there... if we do it... can we at least do hwy 178 as well? i dont mind going in front on that road. tehehehe. i call it the back of my hand.

if we go on hwy 178 guys... there is a badass little waterfall right off another fun backroad that i suggest we go if everyone wants. its seriously 5 mins from the bottom of 178. parking is tight but i think we will be ok.

Toby thats cool. i prefer we have our fun on hwy 178 tho b/c its less crowded than Caesar's Head (not any pull off type attractions). I dont mind, i think itll be fun. you do have a 5speed so thats a plus on your part. haha. ill also mount my camera too if i feel pointed towards you so it'll be filming you chasing me.

everyone ok with going to two attractions? one 5 mins. from the top of caesars head. the pretty place chapel.


and the waterfall off of hwy 178... both are pretty close to those two roads. and those runs, as you know are within 15 mins of each other.

Toby you had to say something about my idle didn't you now my car idle horrable low and anytime i get on the brakes it stalls out..

 

the throttle stop screw is your friend, you should be able to bump it up to 800 or so, but make sure your timing is good first. same thing would happen to my tii. when i first got it it idled at 500!

 

allen, toby, can i come play with you guys when u do these drives? let me get my car back running and i'll tag along in it...or i'll see if alan will let me borrow his miata again unless someone else wants to loan me a car to follow in?!?!?

 

yo guys i might be coming if i can work out cooling probs in time. hopefully the thermostat dealio is the worst of it. if so im picking it up from a guy named ken tomorrow.

 

Ok, so I got my camera mounted, found my dads old tripod. I set it up in the back of the passenger seat and towards the middle of the car.
Recorded a test run at a park up the road, on a paved walking trail , lots of tight corners, 1st gear run mostly.
For some reason the park designers made a driveway to the walking trail.
I wonder when there going to chain those driveways off.

So for my 1st in-car mounted-camera experience, it worked out really well. Steady filming.
I wish I could post some shots now, but I haven't really gotten in to that yet. Ill leave that up to my brother for now.

Cant wait for the meet.

 

i finally replaced my cut tire (it had a huge gash in it from my gxl wreck), so now i can drive fast without worrying about a blowout. My ic piping problems are fixed too, should be good fun

toby... what you are talking about is what i do. i mount a really heavy duty tripod in between the seats and then push the seats back against it to hold it in place. it doesn't go anywhere at all!!! we will run but i can assure you its just for fun. i think itll be fun and im definetely looking forward to it.



i can swivel it from shooting me and what im seeing while running the mtns... to filming behind me and you chasing me.
