All of my points but one (#4) was directed at the originator, not you.

My "Friend" LT1_RX7, has parked his car many times in my driveway, he has gotten dirty on my garage floor and has been a great help on projects. He is welcome in my home anytime he is in town.

You overstate my feelings on V8 swaps, and any comments about LT1_RX7s car by me was said to his face.

I meant what I said about respect for your opinion. If I wanted to disrespect you, there would have been no doubt about it. You need to get some thick skin and quit being such a *****! See what I mean..........that was pretty clear. So now you can GF yourself. You are more upset than the original poster! We have a difference of opinion that was meant by me to have originally been respectful.

Again, this is a public rotary forum and I'll pipe in my two cents when ever I want to. RX, what does that stand for??? So an RX is no longer an RX when the RX is gone. The car wasn't called a Mazda 7, it was named the Mazda RX-7 for a reason, because of the rotary engine. Same as the RX2, RX3, RX4, RX5, RX6 and RX8. The only exception would have been the Cosmo!

The LT1 I have been in is not this friends car so I can't comment on LT1s car. I will say I have much respect for him as he did the work himself and his knowledge of Rotary engines is solid as well. Sorry you were brought into this discussion this way A.

Femnto-Didn't mean to cause any hard feelings for you, enjoy your V8 FD and good luck with the project!

Rotaryspitfire,

Look, heres the deal. I made this thread and marked it SC on purpose (for all the SC RX7 guys I have previously met). Of course I knew that other people where going to look at it and they are more than welcome. What you do not seem to grasp is that although you and MANY MANY MANY other people say you ment no disrespect or you like RX-7s with LS1/LT1 in them, you clearly sound/read like you have a problem with it. You said it yourself "go buy a v8 muscle car". I and other people here who love our RX7's (not v8 fds) dont go around making fun of the rotary or saying "if you wanted to go in circles, get a merrygoround". We just had certain reasons we wanted to modify our cars. I almost guarantee your FD/FC is not stock therefore you have no room to talk.

Its like your mom told you a long time ago "if you dont have anything positive to say, dont say anything at all".

I mean, what exactly does this sound like "You are ******* up your car, I have a friend who has one and its shitty, I wouldnt do that to my car, rx7 is made to have a rotary BUT OH BTW, good luck and I hope it works out"

Seriously dude, you in no way, shape or form contributed positively to this thread other than to make stupid comments and start controversy.

This is a forum you are very right, but dont join the bandwagon and write stupid comments just BECAUSE YOU CAN. That is asenine.

Thats MY 2 cents.

rotaryspitfire,
I've been reading this thread, and I believe you will not win this debate.
So just stop.
Heck you should have stopped before your last post (Post #26).

I don't mean to get in on this argument.
I just suggest this **** stop.
All the OP wanted is to have a build thread, am I right?
But it has been jacked with this V8 vs. rotary bs.

So just stop.
You've been warned.

And this is a public forum, isn't it? The OP's first post was directed at the people he knew that might want to know what's going on with his car. That didn't stop you from crapping on it.

And we've gotten dirty together too. Ask him where his the tranny was built.

First of all, his car has an LT1, not an LS motor. That's GenII vs GenIII SBCs. About the only difference between GenII motors and GenI (the SBCs from 1955-1992) is the distributor placement and the water pump (reverse flow). Didn't I say not to compare GenIII motors with the previous SBCs? Stock for stock, GenII vs GenIII there is a 50hp - 120hp difference in the motors, depending on the GenIII trim you have.

Really... didn't I tell you that I'm not pissed earlier? Didn't I tell you not to assume that I am and only doing so worsens the tone? Didn't I tell you I would help you any way I can? Sounds like you're the one upset.

Difference in opinion I don't mind, but you specifically said that swapping engines doesn't warrant much respect.

And I will too. Didn't you tell me to leave and go to the little corner of this forum specifically for swap guys? Consistancy please.

I'll tell that to the DMV next time I register one and see if they'll change my title. Something tells me they won't.

Much respect for him but not his car, right?

Listen big guy, I'll wrap this post up just like I did the last one. Anything I can do to help you with any of your projects, I'll be happy to, but your insults are wearing out your welcome pretty quick. I haven't seen your car, but if you are as passionate about it as you sound, I'm sure it's a nice car. I would love to see it and love to ride in it some time. I haven't came up on this thread and insulted you, your car, your abilities, or your preference in powerplant. Please return the favor to me and anyone else, for that matter.

I used to work as a professional musician and I had my preference in music styles, but I hated rap. One time, I was talking to someone, who I consider a mentor, about it and he told me he didn't like it either. But, he said, every style of music has its own special magic and if you put away your negitivity, you can see and respect the magic. I've spent many hours on stage and in a recording studio, and I've never once performed or recorded a rap/R&B song, but now, I do respect it. Even if I hardly ever listen to it, even if it's something I'll never create, it is something that is special in it's own unique way. Take it or leave it.

Now, I'm going to take Toby's advice and lay off it. I'll let the OP post as his build progresses.

Because I ripped the soul out of the car!! and screwed up the handling, and rebadged it a PX7, because I'm dumber than the Mazda engineers, because it just sounds wrong...

See, I've been around long enough to argue both sides

Look at you... you think you're the center of attention, don't ya??? I did 2 SBC FCs and the LS1 FC before I know this forum existed. Now, who's trying to be like you??? Haha... jk bro.

There's a guy not far from me who is putting a 2.2 SC motor from a Cobalt SS into the rear of one of the old style Minis. He says he's shooting for 300hp. That thing is gonna be a wild ride.

Femnto, if I wasn't clear before........I'm sorry for making my comment to you, no hard feelings on my part and hope the same with you.

I'm sure you can defend yourself and not sure why Pez felt like he had to dominate the thread. His assumptions were way off mark and his rants/rages were just as unwarranted as my remark.

No more from me...............See all of you on the road!!

And for the record, there were no rx5 and rx6. My mistake

Well, this is a public forum.

Let's review.... I've done at least 7 V8 or V6 swaps, I've reverse engineered the GM AC PCM circuitry, invested in hardware to adapt it to the Mazda electronics and AC lines, I keep stock of this hardwars and sell it to other swappers (over 50 kits sold with no advertising), I build plug and play LS1/LS2 wiring harnesses for FD/FCs, I have for over 1.5 years and have always had a waiting list, my inbox in the V8 RX7 forum stays full with people needing specific wiring, AC, and T56 answers, and, frankly I enjoy building and driving them.

So, telling the OP that he is ******* up his car is essentially telling me and the hundreds of other swappers the same.

I assumed nothing, I was only responding to your remarks and assumptions. Like assuming that you pissed me off. The only assumption I made was saying that 'if your car is as nice as your passion for it, I'm sure it's a nice car.' Was that off the mark?

Responding to your remarks is not a rant or a rage. In the thousands of posts I've made on various forums, no one has assumed that I'm ranting and raging. I don't have a temper problem and have not taken anything personal.

And there was also a REPU.

It apparently sold from 75-80 but not many were sold outside of japan. It also shared many components with the RX-4.

There actually was an RX-6, but from what i can tell it wasn't sold in the US.

I have been to the darkside...and I love it!! I don't miss BOOST at all and if I ever do, there's room for it in the FD with the LS motor.

Good luck with the swap ( I took the easy way out and bought one). Keep up the build thread!

LT1, the BR3 is a possibility for me.

And though this was not the place to express my original opinion to Femnto, I stand by what I said. After a few Pms we are cool with each other, life is good!!

Well, as far as I know, I should be able to make it by DGRR time. Having a bit of a problem with some parts but that should clear up in the next week or so. Iam shooting for mid march now for everything to be up and running but we will see.....
