SC guys, help
Carolina Turbo II - I need more info. to help you out. I know it turns over but does it start? What went wrong when it died? Something tells me you have started a thread.. I will look and see if I can help.
well i bought a compression tester for 40 bucks at advance auto parts and let me tell you, whoever came up with the design is retarded (either that or iam retarded). You see, the connector that acts as the spark plug is no problem to get in but then when you try and screw the hose in (or in reverse order) its about imposible. I had to basically tape the hose up into the smallest loops so i could thread it into the adaptor. Then i took off the tape and plugged in the gauge.
00000000000 COMPRESSION AFTER VARIOUS TESTS!! Maybe iam just having bad luck.
On another note, i was looking at the shop manual because some buddy of mine told me that HIS FRIEND who has an FD (yeah yeah i know, his brothers sisters, cousins, nephews uncles son) said that if one of my plugs was bad that could happen. See, ive never been under the impression that just one plug wold cause the engine to die? Is this true on FDS? I mean, i figured with 2 or 3 good ones it would at least attempt combustion, no?
Also, on an FD, how are the spark plugs supposed to go. When i replaced them i put them in just like they where before but to be honest they didnt make 2 much sense to me. Both of the top are trailing and the botom ones are leading but the way they had them was basicall like this: T BUR9 T BUR7, L BUR7 L BUR9. Now this didnt make much sense to me at the time but i had tons of othe stuff to do so i said if the car was working it shouldnt have been much of an issue. Are both 7's supposed to be in the leading and both 9's in the trailing or vice versa? Or are the way they are now criss crossed ok?

not to be a smart ***, but, the plugs with a T on them go in the holes with a T on them. then the plugs with a L on them go in the holes marked L. that shouldnt blow your motor with the mods you have. but i hate to break it to you, i think your motor is toast. give Ernst a call at RX-7 world and talk about a new motor. 1-803-328-6737
well i put new plugs on AGAIN and i started to see the white smoke from the ATF fluid coming out the exhaust. I can now hear an attempt at combustion but thats it. Still dosent start...............
