I went to school at USF years ago, and there weren't many even back then.

Mike Lowe installed my new motor in '01.

My wife and I are from Port c|Charlotte and North Nort. We are in town from time to time, but we currently live in Gainesville as we are both full time students. From our experience many of the "tuners" in that area consider a body kit and a spoiler mods. Last time we were in town we popped into a local meeting spot in Port Charlotte... needless to say it was halarious. My wife was explaining some of the finer points of the nissan 300zx to some of the local "experts".

-melissa dont get mad because i am posting using your SN! I will create my own some day... if you have anything to add please do!

lol, I have seen some of the port charlotte "meet" they used to drive over to where I lived before and come to our meet in sebring, which also I have nothing that great to say about either but all I can say is .... they fit in with the Sebring/ghetto/redneck/ricey crowd, it is pretty funny.

My main reason for asking if there were any FD's here was because my husband has a 300zx and there are like 7 or 8 of them that meet up on a regular basis and hang out a go drive around town, I go with and I am the outcast. I was seeing if there was anyone close by that wanted to meet-up and go driving around sarasota with us one of these weekends.

I do believe we have exchanged emails at some point as i find it very interesting when i meet any couple that has the same taste in automobiles as we do. We would love to meet up sometime (I am speeking for my wife here). Maybe on our next trip down south?

Oh your husband has great taste in cars BTW!!
ask him if this car looks familiar.......

Also, i am in the process of a TT swap as i am sure you went through with your husband!

you guys are doing the swap right now? is it at a shop or in your garage? yes, i do remember that and it was a long two months, broken things, cracked things, little things, and waiting on all the little parts you run into along the way that all have to be ordered, its a pain but its all worth it in the end. the next time you guys come down send me an IM or derrick (2+2twinturbo) on the forums.

I will be rebuilding the TT engine to some degree, rebuilding the turbos (hopefully with the ability to push 20+ psi daily once i can afford injectors and intercoolers). We have a wealth of z32 knowledge and parts at our disposal here in gainesville and i expect the swap to take ~2-4 weeks from engine pull to start up. We will be doing it ourselves BTW. I have seen many shops offer the service, but I dislike taking the cars to shops to have things done. If i have the available time and resources to do it ourselves i would much rather get dirty and learn then have someone else do it for me.

I will have my wife look you up the next time we are planning a trip back home.... then we will have to fight over whos car to take =)

yeah, once derrick got the motor out and all the parts finally came in he had the car running good in 3 days motor back in and all, but it was 12-14 hr 3 hour days....I dont blame you on the taking your car to a shop thing, the only person that we trust w/that kind of stuff for Z32's is the Ztuner , harry is awesome he knows everything there is to know about Z's and cars in general, derrick works with him alot on the Z's he has like 6 at his house all the time, its pretty fun. well if your car is up and running when you guys decide to come down you could drive that and meet all the Z people here or your wife could drive her FD and I could get to meet her and see another FD for a change

That could be a possibility. We are planning to have dinner with some regular customers of mine that just opened a resturaunt in st pete. Maybe after that we can meet up for some drinks or a try to plan it on a meet night. I would like it if my wife had some female car friends/aquaintances. As of right now she is basically surrounded by guys (the ones that dont know her dont take her seriously), expecially at track days..... i would love for her to get out there and beat up some tires.

I am going to stop hijacking her screen name after this post!

There's also www.westflarx7.com if you're interested in meeting even more owners. We have about 8 owners up here in tallahassee and some more in pensacola.
