RRDI is happening this weekend, Saturday evening beginning around 6:00 PM.

On Sunday we get up early and caravan down to Seymour Johnson AFB for the Wayne County Air Show. Meeting at the SMITHFIELD Cracker Barrel, ( THAT IS THE SMITHFIELD CB, NOT THE MORRISVILLE CB ) off of I-95 at 7:00 am for breakfast.

Need to know who is joining the caravan from Smithfield to Goldsboro so we don't leave too early and miss someone.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO CRACKER BARREL:
-From Raleigh take the 440 Beltline east and southeast of Raleigh,
-then exit 16 to I-40,
-then take exit 306 for US-70 to GARNER/SMITHFIELD/GOLDSBORO,
-turn SLIGHT RIGHT on US-70,
-then bear LEFT on US-70,
-continue forward on US-70 heading SOUTHEAST approximately 30 miles
Turn RIGHT on INDUSTRIAL PARK DR and go a little over a mile to Cracker Barrel

Looks like it should take about 45 minutes driving to reach the CB from Raleigh

If you're not planning on joining us for biscuits and gravy then plan on arriving at the CB by 7:45 am. Also remember you need a full tank of gas when you leave Raleigh or when you arrive at the CB.

It's not so much if I can afford the gas (whatever THAT is), but more if the car is running again after changing the fuel filter and downpipe or if I even get finished with those jobs.

I have to say we MIGHT have the best looking ones, although I've seen some good looking ones in other branches as well, and we also have our fair share of Wookies.

added Gary to the list but Johny has declined. Too much excitement after last weekend's racing. His doctor recommended he stay home 'til his heart rate settles down and Tiffany needs her beauty rest too.

And it's crazy you mention a gecko...I was getting into my buddy's car earlier this week and there was a gecko on his passenger seat. He said "I sure hope he doesn't die in here" and I thought it was such a humane statement, and he ends it with "that would really stink up the car", hahaha. Anyhoo....

 

I'll meet you guys for breakfast since it is less that a mile or so from where I live. I want be able to go to the air show though. I have a inventory on Sunday!

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the Air Show...sorry I couldn't get us better parking. It took me 30 minutes to get to my house...and it's on base, the parking and exit routes were total BS! I hope next year's show will show great improvement.

 

yeah the parking was great but i was expecting a little more out of the airshow......

 

Yeah, you figure the aircraft wouldn't have rely on pedal power!!!

 

I got sunburned, but we knew we would... I really enjoyed it. Lots of pics, some decent ones. I'll post some up later, right now... couch.

 

It was a great show. I did manage to catch up with the AF Live girl and grabbed a quick photo with her . More photo's soon.
