RRDI BBQ: Saturday, July 8th

Let's have a cookout on July 8th, which is also an RRDI meet day.

Availability of picnic shelters at Falls Lake are filling pretty fast. I can reserve a shelter for $60 for an 8-table shelter.

This allows for us to meet in a nice environment, and fellowship as a group.

All Rotorheads are welcome.

Each person will need to bring something, such as napkins, plates, condiments, hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, beverages, etc.

Let's start the list: (copy/paste and add yourself and your item you will be able to bring)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Christina (PerkyStina) - napkins & plates
2. David (PhoenixFlame) - ice in a cooler
Crap, I forgot that was the same weekend.
Bump my cookout to July 1st?
There's a big sailboat show in Beaufort, NC the weekend of the 1st... we could make a road trip down there, instead? It actually looks kinda cool.
August 12th is the MSCCNC RBQ at VIR this year. July doesn't look like there is much going on so maybe something that month would work.
Still on for July 8th, but we may need to alter our plans a little bit, if the tables are all reserved. This will only be a small event, so I don't want Gar-B-Q people to think I'm competition.
I don't think any of the RRDI guys are gonna be able to make it to Gar-B-Q, since that's a long drive, and most of us have mods to do before heading towards the TN boarder again.
Let me know, guys.
I know y'all have been discussing a cookout for a while now.
Come on guys, this will be David's first weekend as a civilian in 6 years. We need to show him what he's been missing. Bring a door prize for the drawing. We need to jump on this now. Need to make sure everyone that has been to a Drive-In knows about this. We'll do this at Beaver Dam Recreation area and will reserve a shelter. Greg, if you can make it we'll cook late.
I'll be there but after work sometime around 6pm. Don't hold up the food on my account! Feed those peeps! If you need something picked up on the way out let me know before I leave the shop (828-4888).
When are we having it? Is it going to be this (July 1) Saturday or the 8th? If so, I can get some Nathan's hotdogs and buns.
UPDATE
We are going to Nopi in Rockingham, NC, INSTEAD of the picnic at the lake.
This year, the website says there is supposed to be a drift show.
Saturday, July 8th is the day we are going.
I'm not sure what time the gates open, so if we want to leave Raleigh around 8:30 or 9, that will give us plenty of time to get down there and get parked, etc.
It will take us a little less than an hour and a half to get there. Last year, we had a caravan, and we had a blast.
If you can find somewhere in your quest online for a specific time that the festivities begin, then we can base our depature time around that.
We will leave from Char-Grill, since that is a familiar place for everyone.
We will be cooking out there. Please volunteer for what you intend to bring. Food and concessions was expensive last year... plan on bringing a water bottle!!
Continue the items list for the cookout as started in the previous posts.
Call my cell or PM me if you need more info, or if you have any suggestions.
See you there!
Gates open at 8 for contestants. Show times are 10am-11pm on saturday.
ok... no drifting for me, either...
...as for our departure time, 8:30AM at Char-Grill.
At this part of the site, The first of the 3 .gif files on the left says, "Nopi Drift Show," then those words move down, and it says July 8th and 9th, Rockingham Dragway, Rockingham, NC.
I can't freakin WAIT!! I've never been to a drift show.
eh... either way, it's gonna be freakin fun.
Also, the Rockingham show is being REALLY promo'ed... cuz they even had an advertisement on myspace.
Check out their myspace profile... even if you don't have a myspace.
Y'all print out the $5 off coupon, and bring it with you.
Food list:
1. Christina (PerkyStina) - napkins & plates
2. David (PhoenixFlame) - ice in a cooler
3. Bert - Hamburgers and Buns
4. Bobby - Cups and Chips.
haha thats from an old cartoonnetwork.com ad campain cartoon network used to air back in the day. They had a kid running around to their mascots (standing around in some yard?) going "chicka chicka" as if he were buying stuff online. I used it to refer to me printing out my $5 coupon.
Ok enough useless information about cartoon network.. back to NOPI!
