I disagree with the Old Town staff how they handle of who they let in or not but at the same time I kind of understand they want nice looking cars for their car show. They look for the "nice looks" and not for who is the fastest b/c there is no race track to confirmed who is faster at Old Town.
Now, I don't agree with moving the meet to somewhere else just b/c of some people, by going to Old Town we are exposing the Wankel engines, we are actually teaching others about rotaries, I love to see the expressions of those people who have never seen a rotary engine and after a little bit they ask "what is that?"
I think we have enough people to do two meets a month, one at OT and one at Central Florida Road Course, I can't wait to make it to the track, as soon as I fix my car missing problem I will go check it out. We have a lot of race track people and a lot of "I want my car to look good" not counting those who like both, like me.
So lets push for meets and enjoy!!! Keep posting lots of pictures!!!

Jimmy, I agree with you on educating people on the wankel, specially @ Old Town since there's a lot of tourists from many parts of the world. I'll see if I can work something out with the manager of OT to let all rotaries in regardless of modifications, maybe if we all park in the back lot, that way we can all stay together and look more like a group instead of a bunch of strangers like in the last meet.
I also like the 2 meets idea, OT will still be on the 1st friday of every month and we can push for a mid month meet @ the track, what do you think???

Those are my guys thanks for step in big time in this, also thanks for be there always, It will take us time to put everything together but I know we can. Why we dont get together this friday to visit Old Town manager and speak with him as a group of enthusiast of Rotaries and straight up all this confuse it may cause in few rotorheads. Lets keep this warm up all the rotary community.

 

While its nice to park in the front, we all can't make it early enough to park together due to work schedules and other factors, khronus79 I like your idea of parking in the back all together as a group that we are, I have not been able to make the last two meets b/c I work double shift on Fridays but I will do my best to make the June event.

I was not let in to old town like 3 years ago because #1 my car was a '93, #2 I did not have 4 external modifications. I have not been back since! My car has been down, but the major reason is how rude the old timer was when speaking to me. My neighbor has recently been going in his '93 mustang and he has no issues. They counted his mods as wheels, lowered suspension, tint and a chrome bracket around his license plate.

 

Ya, the guy was a dick this time around too.

 

that old guy at the entrance has always been a dick.

 

I guess it's his job..

We were going to wait for the sun to go down, then drop our hoods and try again.

He probably would of let us go in.

Friday june 12, 2009 - the friday nite cruise 11 anniversary at old town kissimmee, registration opens at 3:00 pm and the first 300 cars, old town will give a conmmemorative license plate..lots of prizes and more.

ok guys, you know old town have some rules, from 1975-1987 painted in one color. For 1988 and up - please tell them you have 4 exterior or interior modifications on your car, no stock look.hope to see more rotaries in this event.
