My turbo is making a whistling sound near 6k and I am not sure if it is an problem or not. I have a S4 stock turbo. If was told to check shaft play

 

its probably the compressor wheel hitting the housing. probably caused by worn out journal bearings. needs a rebuild, but you may have to replace the wheel too if it is too worn down from hitting the housing. you can always send it to bnr for an upgrade

 

damn. The upgrade I want is nearly $750.

 

just check the shaft play lol i read your thread in the 2nd gen tech. there are directions on how to do it. if you really need help i can go out to orange park and meet you and help you do it right now
