Raleigh Rotary Drive-Ins in May

As usual we'll be having the May Drive-Ins on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, that's May 14 and 28 for those that have been breathing RX7 exhaust all winter 'cause it has been too cold or the weather's been too bad. Now y'all can open the garage doors again!

The turnouts for the March and April drive-ins are consistently picking up and May should be a great time to be outside now that the pine and oak pollen season has run its course. Everyone get those rotaries turning, your car cleaned up and running smooth and bring her out and show her off to a bunch of rotorheads that like nothing better than eating burgers, meeting rotary owners, and discussing the latest mods, the newest noises, and being in the parking lot when a new rotary shows up.

We meet at the Char Grill on Strickland Road in north Raleigh and the Drive-Ins begin anytime two rotary owners arrive or at 6:30 PM whichever is later.

...Just depends on if the first people are FD owners.

Cuz it could start at 9 if we rely on them!

Actually Josh showed up on time at the last drive-in and there was one other FD there from a new guy. So the FD owners are getting better.

what if I show up in my cavy because the rex has had a blown rotor for the last four months now. I figure since my commitment to buildin things for the seven and having a site up is enough to keep me considered an enthusiast even tho I wont have one with me. I live in Bailey but get off of work from my job in Wendell at 3. Maybe you FC guys want to see the stuff I make maybe I can bring something on request.

Sorry I missed Saturday's drive-in, will definitely be at the May 28th meet. Since this is Memorial weekend we might have some guys out but should be a great time to meet other rotary owners.

We'd all be interested in seeing what you make in Wendell for rotaries. Let us know what you have and I'll check out the website and see what's there.

Who is gonna make it on the 28th? We still need to have our year one anniversary party for the RRDI, anyone know where we can get a rotary shaped cake? Maybe I can get the GRR shirts done by then, We'll see. I have to get 24 for the first order and have 15 committed so if anyone wants a shirt from the first GRR of NC let me know.

To Raleigh Rotorheads

I would love to come buy to give someone the opportunity to make a little cash installing my stereo on their own time. Ive got a Sony detachable face some sony speakers, and amp and sub. If there will be anyone there to give me some advice or to offer to do the job......it would be great!

Anyone want to help a fellow rotary owner on the 28th?
Cory -
Do you have a wiring harness for the head unit?

If you want your antenna to work properly you'll a standard auto relay to reverse the polarity of the system.

Also will you have the wiring for all the speakers and amp?

What is in the dash now where you want the head unit to go?

The 4th Saturday Drive-In will be tomorrow at the Strickland Road Char Grill, 6:30 PM. I got a Deals Gap DVD, if someone wants to bring a notebook with a DVD player we can all watch and relive the greatest gathering of rotary machines in the history of he ol' North State.

Its Memorial Day weekend, so every RRDI member give a thought and a prayer to our members in the military and to all the other guys serving to protect our freedom and make it possible for millions of people, men, women, and children to experience true freedom and live free of tyranny for the first time in their lives. I heard from Eric, US Air Force who is serving in Kuwait and he hopes to be joining us in July for our 2nd Saturday Drive-In. We also have Jason down at Cherry Point, Ryan's in basic training and should be shortly going to AIT at Fort Sam Houston, Scott is either in Illinois or Norfolk doing his training these days. There have been 3-4 other guys in the Marines, Navy, and Air Force who have been to several Drive-ins.

Thanks to each of them for volunteering to serve and sacrifice their time and their lives, if necessary, so that we can continue to live free and prosper.

Great post Bert, thanks to all of you.

bert, what is the deal about the antenna and the relay? my antenna comes out as soon as i turn on the head unit. i would like it to only turn on with radio, and not the CD.
